New exotic mission is accessible from Deep Dive, if you got all the exotic fishes in the past rally weeks.

It's... quite hard. I don't think I'm gonna do this with matchmaking, or even with LFG since my DPS kinda sucks anyway.

I'm mostly curious how they intend to sell people 4 more seasons of content after the Final Shape.

Not that it matters, I'm only bothering with the raid next season, next dungeon, then I'll play TFS and do the raid then I'm probably finished.

Yeah, telling people "ok guys, you just saved the world from the big villain, now go and clean up some random loose ends" doesn't sound very epic. Though I guess there are those who liked the Scouring of the Shire in LOTR, so who can tell?



My approach to the game got much better after I stopped playing compulsively. Nowadays I usually just login when I feel like spending a couple hours, not to chase some big bounties anymore.

I have no idea which season we're even in... It's bloody great!

I actually play and complete other games now. (Although D4 put a stop to that for a while)

I do fancy going back to this sometimes. Did they ever bring back Titan properly? As a patrol zone?

Well, there was quite a bit to take in.

- The Final Shape is apparently not going to include a new darkness subclass (you'd think they would have shown it otherwise), but they are going to have new Light supers and aspects.
- They outright said the Witness won't be the final boss of the campaign, but possibly not even the raid (she actually said "raids", plural, not sure if that means anything). A community event maybe? Because those went so well the last few times.
- Next season is Season of the Witch, where we are going to use Hive powers and deck building and stuff. I'll have to see how I get on with it.
- Next year, we are getting Episodes instead of Seasons, and there's going to be 3 of them instead of 4. Not quite sure what exactly is different from seasons. Also not quite sure if the price is going to be the same, they might be more expensive. Hope not though. They did show pictures and I'm guessing the Fanatic is coming back, so there's something to look forward to.
- This season, other than the exotic missions rotator, they are also adding a "select mission" for each past campaign. Free for everyone.
- They talked about Cayde, but didn't exactly make a good case about why him coming back was necessary. Well, chances are Nathan Fillion is only in for this one game.

I feel like there's a bit of content recycling, but heh, some changes are better than nothing. The game right now feels pretty stale.

Well, there it is, after just five years.

The new seasonal activity isn't looking so good to me, I'm kinda tired of fighting Hive, and the rotator exotic mission is free to all players. Also I don't feel like having to grind stuff right now: I don't mind the occasional strike or so, but grinding for the usual ranks and artifact doesn't appeal too much to me at the moment. Think I'll skip this season and see if the next one is more interesting.

Are there no seasonal bonuses? The second tab in the seasonal challenges still shows Season of the Deep challenges.

Yeah, today dropped one that sounds like the usual fare (guaranteed red border). It's still stupid, as the second tab shows the bonuses from last season, and the third tab, titled "past challenges" lists the same from last season.

Also, how does this idiotic rank resetting work exactly? All the blue items need to be re-done again right? But what I don't understand is: I got reset to rank 6, re-did rank 7 and now can't get to rank 8 because I need to complete 8 seasonal challenges, but there are only 7 available currently. How are there so many people with rank 8 or higher running around? Did higher-rank people not need to re-do the blue items from rank 7?

Is it just me, or have the servers been pretty bad since the new season started? Doesn't seem stable enough to even play tonight.

Also, it seems this update tanked performance on my laptop. I've lost a good 5-10fps in average across most areas. Now I'm almost always playing at 40-50fps, which is not exactly ideal.

No, it makes sense. Otherwise if you hit GR11 on the last week of the season you'd have it for a few days then back to 6 with everyone else. Think of it as maintaining your rank the next season.
