It was definitely better once you got us to stop trying to brute force the sparrow bomb run ha ha. Didn’t know about a few of those checkpoints.

I hate the sparrow section. Can't imagine trying a flawless run and having to deal with that. Rest of the dungeon is very easy, but that part is basically up to luck.
To this day, I still don't understand how to jump to the skull without hitting the rocks.

Thing is is the first time me and the boy did it, we did the skull bit first time.
This time we couldn’t stop smashing off the rocks!

Fuck dares of eternity, over 12 hours trying to get my last red framed bxr. I know there is the glitch but that would mean deleting a character. Taken me longer to get the last one than it did the first 4. I had the same issue. I used my crafted one for Trials this week though.

The grind for red box weapons is hideous. Should really be 3 weapons per pattern, maybe 5 for the Raid weapons.
I am one lucky bastard with a patterned Doom of Chelchis though. Flicking between Firefly/Dragonfly and Explosive Payload/One for all on it. It has a disgusting perk pool.

I haven't even begun grinding for red box weapons yet. Although I did manage to fuck that quest up early on so I couldn't even craft a Taipan, which apparently was guaranteed at the end of it. Got a decent roll one so I'm not too bothered mind you.

I don't care about deepsight weapons. I got my crafted shotgun up to level 25 and with legendary perks so I can't see myself changing it anytime soon anyway.
I do extract patterns when red weapons come up, but I'm not sure I'll ever use the materials.

Definitely wouldn't sleep on the Taipan if you haven't done the quest. Holds its own in everything PvE related.
I'm not that arsed myself about constantly crafting but the raid Scout is probably one of my best in slot now so I don't regret that. Was doing a master Ketchcraft last night and the purple shield Servitors that protect the boss were popping like fireworks in seconds.

Taipan is great, it can have Triple Tap/Firing Line which combined with the intrinsic Veist Stinger makes it an S+ tier boss DPS weapon.
I spent a while grinding the dares weapons as the seasonal ones haven't really caught my attention tbh.

Its laughable that it's a Legendary really. Combining that with Arbalest on stuff like Warpriest/Oryx is making those encounters feel like strikes you can burn them that quick.

Yeah I love Taipan. Finding it hard to swap the rest of my loadout too tbh. I've got Krait with Stats for All, Headstone, Veist Stinger as my kinetic, and Wavesplitter as my energy. Wavesplitter is stupidly good and Krait with headstone just melts mobs so long as I keep landing that precision final blow.

Ha, yeah I think it should probably get a small nerf so stuff you have to really work towards getting nice drops on like Reeds and Stormchaser is absolutely optimum. But it's made endgame stuff a bit more friendly to more casual players which has been a good thing in my experience since KF dropped. Helped a fair few get their first clear without them feeling the intimidation factor of not having X weapon for DPS.

50 champions for this week's quest step?

I dunno, it's a fairly minimal difference in DPS between the best rolls on Taipan, Reeds, Stormchaser and Cataclysmic really. They're all pretty great, only reason to grind another is to have an other element covered for GM boss burns if that's your bag? I'll be sticking with my crafted Cataclysmic until I cba to chase something else. From here mobalytics.gg/blog/destiny-2/taipan-4-god-roll-how-to-choose-the-best-linear-fusion-rifle/ (health warning, serious stat nerd territory in there)

I'm still going for a Threaded Needle with Vorpal Weapon as main linear fusion rifle. It doesn't help that, without the season pass, and without playing much, I'm not really willing to invest the time into upgrading my inventory for old drops.
If possible, I'd like to start playing more often again next season, depending on how life treats me. It should be a fairly short season though, so maybe I'll have to outright wait until Lightfall.

It's a bit of a shame that the harder stuff to get doesn't quite stand out (especially if you never re-acquired Reed's after foundry perks were added and it doesn't have veist stinger) relative to it, though at least I can put Big Ones on my Adept Reeds.

50 champions for this week's quest step? This is a crock of shit. Recon I've never even killed that many in all my time playing D2. I don't play high level stuff. I struggle with master dungeons, for example. And, no, I don't have a team/clan for the Gatecrash activity, or whatever the fuck it is called. Bungie being an ass towards the vast majority of players who are time limited and casual. AGAIN.

The highest matchmade Nightfall usually has a fair few Champs to chew through. I'd like to hope it doesn't just count final blows but I haven't been on since reset.

Even just Hero Nightfall usually has around 10 champions in it. Failing that (or if you don't want to deal with randoms who skip the whole strike), Legend Lost Sectors shouldn't take long.
You don't even need final blows, I think, you just need to have done any amount of damage before they die. One hit is probably enough.

Hero NFs alone will give you 5+ a run, the weekly story mission has easily killable champions, expeditions has champions. They're all over the place. You don't need to complete it day and date, and there's 10 more weeks of the season left for you to do it.

Oh is it just a seasonal bounty? Ah, you'll piss through that without even knowing it if you play a couple of times a week then.

I think it's the weekly mission so it might back you up a bit but I can't imagine the other steps being that intricate.

It's just that the weekly quest steps have usually (always?) been something that you could do in easy, matchmade content in half an hour or so. So it's a bit weird to then suddenly go from that to "kill 50 champions". And it's not even a change introduced with this season, the previous steps of this season were just like last seasons'.
