The gfx definitely seem to have had some attention. It looks subjectively better and it chugs with more regularity, which is a more reliable indicator. Seems to load a good bit quicker as well
I’m also convinced sprint speed has been reduced
All the new mods are a bit overwhelming. So much new stuff in general. Going to be interested to hear the consensus on the meta f crafting after things settle down a bit
I was dreaming of Destiny last night. Been a looongg tine since I dreamed of a game. I may gage also decided to sack off work for the day today…

Looks like they've added the catalyst for outbreak to playlist activities now. Handy for people like me who never bothered with the harder activity.
New one for Lemon as well. Pumped to get back to it after work, which I haven't been able to say about D2 for a long time as it often just felt like a second job.

Did they un-sunset weapons? It seems like I can infuse my Hammerhead to current levels?

I don’t have a clue about anything you guys have said in the last few posts. I think I’ve been out of the Destiny loop too long 🤣🤣

Did the first Strike. Absolutely loved the Crota's End callback there.
Just done The Cunning. I think it may be my single favourite Destiny mission ever.
This is Taken King/Forsaken level stuff. If the Raid lands I'm inclined to even suggest it is better.

The new weapons, so many just feel better than what I’m used to.

It's probably worth doing the first seasonal mission asap (starts in the tower hangar IIRC) as the next step in that questline gets progressed by story missions, or by completing playlist activities.
It's also quite a fun activity!
Loving the glaive playstyle so far. I've also got a few red border drops that I'll need to have a play around with.
They've definitely knocked it out of the park with this one!

Yeah I really need to get off my arse and start the seasonal stuff. The main quest line has had me completely hooked up to now though.
Next mission comes in at 1490 recommended power. Wow that's quite the jump. Best start that seasonal sooner than I thought.

Having some problems with playlists. It won't matchmake. Had to complete a Battleground by myself, and now for the seasonal intro mission I'm also on my own.
Well, maybe my Huckleberry will see me through.
Edit: actually, I can't see anyone even in public areas... feels a bit empty tonight.

Wow that's quite the jump. Best start that seasonal sooner than I thought. I’m at 1470 and not even halfway through the campaign. It throws items at you 30-40 above your power level after a few hours fairly regularly The campaign missions have all, so far, been fantastic. Did first couple on legendary then decided I wanted to finish the campaign before Easter and dropped it down. Going to save those and try to do in a fireteam

I ran a Lost Sector about 45 under level. Took ages, was a blast. However, I fairly regretted forgetting to crush the boss’ ghost after finally killing it with the last of my non primary ammo

Oh man, there is so much to unpack from the end of the campaign. First of all, the last mission is absolutely top-tier again. Second, it feels so good that it's now "No more grimoire cards, forget about lore books, we're just showing you all this shit now"
Gonna be a fun 2 years if this is the beginning of the end.

Finished the campaign today. I made an effort and powered through without getting sidetracked by other activities. Still missing a lot of the leftover quests, including the second strike, and of course all the weapon shaping and stuff. The campaign was good though, and quite challenging on legendary. Story-wise, however, I feel that many of the plot points would be basically impossible to grasp for new players. And it does end in a bit of a whimper, much like Shadowkeep. Savathun is definitely not dead, so unless they pull an Oryx and make her a raid boss (which is unlikely, chances are she'll be around for quite a while), this whole plot has been basically just Ghaul 2.0 with not much of a payoff. I guess we discovered that the Traveler kinda doesn't care that much about humanity, but I also guess anyone with a brain already realized that? So I don't know where we go from here. There's still the Scorn to deal with, but I suppose they could do that in another season. The Vex, on the other hand, are still kinda doing their own thing.
Oh, the dude with the chimney head at the end looked pretty funny, actually.

I don't know what to tell ya. If this one hasn't landed for you there's no chance the game will ever be what you want it to be from a lore perspective.

I think they just keep piling up more questions than answers. If they want to end the story at some point, they will need to actually tie up some of these plot threads.
Given there are only two big expansions left, it will depend on how willing they are to make meaningful progress during the seasons. The Shadowkeep year was fairly useless in that regard, with lots of simple filler content, but Beyond Light did have a lot of important progression (the truce with the Cabal, Savathun infiltrating the Vanguard, Quria, etc). So there might be hope just yet.
Though it might make the game harder to follow if you don't pay for every season. I think I'm not getting Risen and probably the next season as well, since I'll be way too busy for games in the coming months. Some occasional free activities will do fine.

I'd play some of the post-campaign stuff. There's some more pretty big exposition in there that might shed a bit more light in the areas you want.

Savvy's story was pretty much told in this one. The stuff after the campaign gives you even more backstory on her. The Witness is clearly the Big Bad of the franchise and conned Savathun and her entire race along the way along the way so I think she'll end up back as an ally before the end of the Light & Dark saga which is why she wasn't killed off. The last year has pretty much been setting up that physical reveal at the end of the campaign so we're now clearly getting to the endgame. I'd expect some of the seasons in between big expansions to tie up some of the lesser loose ends but it's pretty much Us vs Megamind now. I'm sure we'll fight the likes of Xivu Arath along the way.

Great hive mind.
Most of my stuff is now at level 1500 (soft cap?). Is now the right time to upgrade my exotics/favourite bits and bobs? Being doing the usual and just using what drops, to save resources, etc. I'm about 5 levels into the campaign - which is bloody fantastic.
Thank you, as always.

Yeah, don't be afraid to take some of your stuff up to 1500. Stuff that drops above that is dropping all over the place but you get so many upgrade modules since the expansion it's kind of difficult to really run out of them unless you're taking the piss with them.

I ended up a right blueberry last night when I stumbled into a heroic live event. I managed to inflict some damage at least, so didn't feel too guilty at helping myself to the loot

The mission itself was just about ok, but the cutscene was pathetic. I laughed out loud when Sov pulled out her knife. I remembered above comment about the ending cutscene of last season when I was watching the ending of The Witch Queen campaign. In the ending cutscene from SotL, when Sov and the Techeuns removed the worm and opened the crystal, Savathûn teleported away and put Osiris in her place. The way I understood it, the scene at the end of the Witch Queen campaign that shows Savathûn dying and being resurrected by the Traveler takes place immediately after the worm excision ritual. She pulls out a knife stuck in her side. I thought that knife was Sov's when she tried to kill Savathûn during the ritual. But when rewatching the above cutscene from SotL, Sov keeps the knife in her hands and never even tries to stab Savathûn. Did I misunderstand something? Or is there a larger gap between the ritual and Savathûn dying, and someone else knifed her? If so, who?

It's a piece of the crystal prison/shell thing she was in all last season that stabs her through the gut when it shattered.

Deepsight weapons remind me a lot of the old weapon testing from D1.
I do wish special weapons would advance faster than primaries though.
