Yeah, very flaky beginning but seems fine once you're in control of Saga.
Feels smooth enough in quality mode so I've just stuck with that, as performance sounds like a big drop in res.

Fuck sake , first world problems but my backlog of games is already massive . Certainly a great couple of years to be a gamer. Needs to be a thread for people to put their list of their backlog . Can you imagine how long one would have to scroll to go through each page? Jeez, my index hurts only thinking about it

Aye, just started it and audio cut out on me... Arse. Got past that bit and lip sync seems off by a couple of hundred ms, so quitting again... I had the same. Still had the Xbox sounds. Came back when I unpaused though…

So I grabbed the pc version at it's absolutely stunning. Brings my 3090 to its knees though but its a proper step up from anything else I've played so far graphically. It's the sort of game you go straight back to if you get a new card down the line.
Really enjoying my time with it so far but only about 90 minutes in.

It looks absolutely lovely on SX in gwaffix mode, so can only imagine how sexy it'd look on PC with everything dialed up and RT. Just finished first chapter. Slow burn with a solid ending. chuffed that they've still got music at the end of each chapter, and hopefully the jukebox can be fixed too

For folks who want it on the Xbox, it’s £34 on the Iceland store with no need for a VPN.

I haven't finished Spiderman yet either Jambo, I'm right near the end though so a couple of morning sessions and I think I will be done.
This is a very slow burner though which apparently I'm right in the mood for at the moment.

I'm itching to purchase this but I still haven't completed starfield or even started phantom liberty. This looks lovely and I want to be in with the cool kids playing at the same time. Wank balls.

No real spoiler but at the end of the first chapter I thought it was utterly bizarre how chill the characters were. The dialogue was delivered like they were just choosing their Tesco meal deals. You mean after a dead man gets up, kills some police officers and disappears. It's like no one else gives a shit. Maybe nobody liked them. I went out to the front of the station and it's like nothing happened. Hilarious. I’ve found this lack of any believable reaction so immersion-breaking and silly that I turned the game off there for tonight. I can only hope it is explained somewhere later in the story, but I doubt it. It really isn‘t handled well at all.

This is getting better reviews than I expected. I may have to treat myself to it someday, and hope it doesn't run too horribly on my Ryzen 3600 and 6600 XT...

I'm on maybe chapter 4 and saga still don't seem too bothered about anything that happens haha. I'm shitting myself way more than she is. It's weird but I'm hoping for some twist that makes sense. (I think there will be, I have faith). Love the little links to control as well.

I'm almost worried that if I play this, it will be at the lowest settings, and I'll be like "what's the big deal?".
Like when I played Crysis on a Geforce 8600 GT (not a great idea in retrospect).

TBF the PS5 performance mode appears to play at the low settings and looks fucking brilliant. I think this is the kind of game where people have to change their perspective that low settings don't always mean trash.

It's because the low settings aren't actually very low compared to normal. It's almost like it's been intentionally built to be played in 2 GPU generations time.

One thing hampering my enjoyment is that feeling of FOMO: I’ve collected several lunchboxes and cult paraphernalia; in town I encountered doors that could be unlocked with bolt cutters or screwdrivers. Will I be back with that equipment?

Should take regular breaks from gaming Askew to stop these things happening. Especially at your age.
Actually I feel we are about 10 years from seeing that post a lot more.

Thought I'd have a quick look at Shillup's allegedly spoiler-free review, expecting it to be standard combat footage from the early game, but nope. Ruined a cameo.
Finished the second chapter and I'm finding the case management side of it a bit fiddly. The chapter took much longer than it should've as a result as I missed slotting a couple of pieces in.

Forgot it's on Epic, which makes my decision for me I guess. Will play it next year and plough on with all the other games out atm.
I do think this gen is into it's stride. Some absolute bona fide classics in recent years (Elden Ring, Baldurs) and maybe this marks a new high for the horror genre?!
