Mine isn't auto-completing. I went in at one point and there was loas of stuff unpinned from ages ago regarding all kinds of nonsense.

I started playing yesterday. Played it for a few hours.
Not sure so far. I reckon if this was a Quantic Dream game rather than a Remedy one people would be giving it a much harder time.

Yeah, autocomplete seemed pretty inconsistent. Bloody lovely to watch when it does happen, though! Just for the "thank fuck I don't have to do that now!" feeling.
It feels like it needed a bit of attention. The rest of the game is varying degrees of good, but the board was just an utter chore.

Liking this more as I go on. Still not massively far into it (about 10-20 minutes after getting a gun for Alan), but I'm getting more into its groove. I get why people aren't that fussed by the Remedy style, but I love it. So incredibly cheesy, but very knowingly so. Plus, the things the writers obviously love are things I love too, so that probably helps.
I can kind of see the comparison with Quantic Dream, but their games are so po-faced about everything, whereas Remedy clearly have their tongue so firmly in cheek. This game feels like it is Remedy dialled up to 11 though, so I fully expect it is going to grate for many. When Mr. Door says "It is so meta" and Sam Lake/Alex Casey smirks at the camera, I'm laughing, but I'm sure others are groaning.

I think the board only auto completes once you have collected all photos within that section? I noticed a couple of times when it auto did it for me that I had the complete set of photos.
I do think if they took the mind place out completely or if I could learn to ignore it, then I would enjoy the game much more.

I like the profiling part of the Mind Place, but the board can sod off to be honest. It's just adding play time on for the sake of it. It's fucking dull. It's such a bizarre experience playing this. On one hand I genuinely love it and think it's brilliant. On the other I find it fucking boring.

I could spend all day reading documents and pinning photos to an imaginary cork board in Remedy games.

Yeah, I've just done 3 missions in Control, and I've read/watched/listened to every single item I've found. Combat is like 10% of the game!

I think I just have no patience to read things in games. It's laborious. Show don't tell guys. I'm not reading a fucking book here.

THIS!!!! I don't mind the odd document, but Remedy rely on them so heavily, especially in Control. The constant start/stopping gets very tiresome.
AW2 is a really well made game, they just need to prioritize gameplay over story. Although, this is the trouble with many big budget releases nowadays.

It's funny what works for different people. Control was all about the bits in between for me. I look forward to finding a document and honestly for my own personal tastes they get it absolutely spot on in terms of how much they dole it out in their games.
In AW2 Saga seems to have the better mix. If anything there's too much combat and not enough documents in Alan's story! TBF it makes thematic sense but still

I don't mind the story but here it's some or all of the following:
1. Walk in to an environment which leads you to initiate a certain plot point
2. Have dialogue with an NPC about the plot point.
3. Go to your mind place and stick the summary of the discussion on the board and listen to internal dialogue telling you nothing new
4. Walk around a bit
5. Solve a puzzle about regarding the plot point (doesn't matter if you'd sussed the solution at stage 1 or 2. You have to walk to the right place and do the mind place nonsense. Looking at you, "heart is in the fridge" puzzle.)
6. Watch a cut scene, that just repeats what you already know/can deduce from the above.
It's really atmospheric but there deliberate design decisions that serve nothing than to break the immersion.

Never mind epilepsy, they should have a law against flashing the image of some screaming old hag while you’re going through some dark basement, especially on HDR screens. Seriously though, jump scares are so cheap.

They really start to overuse them at one point, too. Completely lost any impact as I just expected one every minute.

Walk somewhere 3. Shoot things 4. Search for a key to open a locked door 5. Walk some more 6. Push forward to climb some cliffs 7. Find the next key. 8. Shoot something 9. Kill the boss you couldn't kill at the start.

Sounds awesome. I'd play it.
Point I was making was that the same info is gone over multiple times: observing the environment, dialogue with NPC, internal dialogue by your character, cut scenes and the Mild Place. They repeat the same info. The Mild Palace is entirely redundant as a game device, as there's nothing you gain or learn from interacting with it. It's just pointless busy work.

Combat is frustrating. I think there’s aim assist, but I’ll burn someone’s dark shield away, then I’ll be left aiming at the space as they stagger to the right. Especially the zippy cunts.
I’ve managed to get one stealth kill with the crossbow. On my other attempts I don’t think the arrow has registered. Not really sure if it’s with bothering with.

Yeah I think the quick ones that zip around don't really work for how stiff that character moves especially if you play in quality mode they move too quickly and quite a far distance, an indication that an enemy is going to attack you from behind like in God of War would be helpful.

Fuck. Think I may have got myself stuck as Alan in the rock concert . I appear to have missed a light for the Clicker. I can see the one I want to activate, but I can’t get back to the previous light Edit: nope, found the clue. Edit 2: despite earlier frustrations this section has me grinning. GOTY.

It was well executed and a nice change of tone.
Problem is I heard so many people raving about that section and I had guessed pretty much exactly how it was going to go, which dampened it's effect
There's a lot to be said for experiencing things without any prior knowledge. Something I am undermining with this very post, ofc.

Very much liked the Cynthia Weaver overlap and fight. A nice solid creepy section and the fight itself was cool.
