Yeah I can't find other mentions of this particular sequence being bugged, so it is almost certainly a player stupidity issue. Update: I went back and thoroughly searched the level and am pretty certain it's a bug. Annoying as I was really enjoying the game and had just saved in a weird spot because I had to stop playing the other night. So this was definitely a bug. I went back to a previous save and re-played the sequence I was stuck on without a problem. I guess just don't backtrack and save in places where they might not expect you to. Alan's sections do seem to be especially buggy. I had a blocker with the dark part of an echo never appearing. Reloading from the nearest save room didn't fix it, but thankfully a recent autosave did.

I’m just heading to the amusement park, I’m sure it will be fun times and nothing bad is going to happen.
Also just found out I was playing without DLSS frame generation, the option was greyed out. Turns out you need to enable HAGS in Windows settings.

For the amusement park it would've been so much better if the music started suddenly, preferably when you've nearly finished there. Instead of droning on constantly while you wander around. It kind of loses any impact and gets annoying after a few minutes. Not really a spoiler I suppose, but will keep people on edge!

Yeah I know what you mean. That would have worked well. Although I did like how it was always there too. Added to the tension.

I’m out of there, got the stupid keys. Didn’t find the fuse for one of the rides though. See this is the problem with all scary movies I guess, but I feel so much crazy shit has happened that I’m astonished no one picks up a phone and calls for the military, Nasa and a couple of priests I guess? Or at the very least get some mobile floodlights and assault rifles. No, send this FBI lady with a shotgun and 8 shells, she’ll be alright.

Re installed quantum break. Can't remember much about it except it was good, with an awful end boss and not quite as good as remedy's other games.

Ha. Within five minutes there is an Alan wake link. Oh shit and it is a video called "return"! And shows a female FBI agent looking for Alan. Nice.

I loaded it up for an MS rewards quest recently and fired up a mission in the middle of the game. The gunplay and powers clicked amazingly quickly seeing as I haven't played it since launch. I'm very tempted to have a run through it next.

Yeah that's a good bit. The basement was traumatic for me.. Did that bit last night. This game is actually having me close to noping out at points. It can get fucking creepy when it wants to. I'm in the overlap now, which isn't much better.
Also, these enemies that look like they are half in water, with a reflection comprising their lower half are quite simply cool as fuck.

I did the song part last night, I loved it until I had to repeat a certain part of it 4 times. Bit of a difficulty spike in terms of how aggressive you need to be and the sheer numbers. Fantastic part but I'm not sure I'd really enjoy replaying it given I didn't particularly love that part.
The following section with Alan also brilliant so far. Love the game and the vibe. I just love wandering around slowly absorbing all the detail and being in the environment. Such a detail rich world.

Still bloody loved it though.

Ah that's bollocks. Hopefully they can sort that without any progression loss for you. Going to try and load my oldest save, or walk all the way back to the fishing village and switch to Alan, which one guy on Reddit said fixed it for him. Sucks because I took a couple days off and was planning to finishing this this week. Might play Mario instead, or tackle Talos Principle so I can start the new one.

Shit like this is the reason that I sequentially save using pretty much every slot available. Hopefully an earlier save works for you.

Yeah, this has happened to me. All the carts are clipping through the floor and preventing Saga from being able to duck through. All because I picked up the fuse at the wrong time?

Apparently, bug was introduced with the latest patch. My game is in weird state, I can hear objects rattling as they spawn when you walk around. I switched to Alan and I’m doing the musical bit, and there’s ammo clipping through those red boxes that are all over the place. Maybe I should stop playing before I completely fuck up my save? Seems to be across all systems too, so hopefully they’ll patch it soon.

Urgh. Surprisingly a reload of my last quick save resolved it: the carts were attached. Alas after all that busy work, I got another crash-to-dash when entering the Overlap.
Probably too late to request a refund on Xbox? Think I’d rather play it on my PC.

Completed this last night. It's about a 7/10 for me. There are moments of genius in the game, but there are also moments that are so dull and poorly designed. I generally hated the Mind Place. Just randomly placing pictures on a board was thoroughly boring and just dragged on in places, especially right at the end. Why a mechanic such as this was used as much as it is I have no idea. Its not fun. The game is also really poor at signposting what to do or where to go next. I got to a bit near the end which just said "come up with a plan". Like, how the fuck would I do this then? No clue whatsoever where to go or what to do. I had to google it so I didn't waste the next 2 hours of my life. Turns out I was missing a document, but it would of taken me ages to retrace my steps if I hadn't read a guide.
Very poor pacing as well. I can understand why some would call this a walking simulator. Remedy are clearly very talented people, I just wish they made their games more fun to play.
Voice acting was hit and miss as well. Saga in particular was dreadful, hardly any emotion when delivering her lines.
I have completed Dead Space twice this year and plan on a 3rd run. RE4 I have completed twice. I don't expect I will replay Alan Wake 2, at least not for a long time. I just cannot bring myself to get through the tedious, drawn out sections again.
Personally, I think Alan Wake 1 is the better and more enjoyable game.

Not done yet and still plodding (HA!) through but yeah, a lot of that resonates. Matching up plot points with locations was flicking lights on and of was especially tedious, and made it a game of trial and error busy work. Signposting at points is an issue.
The voice acting is *awful*, and the dialogue cringe-worthy. Probably the worst I've seen in a game for years. It's like playing something from the '00s. Lot of it has a air cheesy naffness. "The Dark Place", "The Dark Presence", "The Mind Place." A bloke called Alan. Fucksakes, make some effort naming stuff.
It *is* very atmospheric though. I quite enjoy slow games, and I really enjoyed walking sims things like ...Gone to the Rapture or Dear Esther or Firewatch. At the moment, the atmosphere is keeping me engaged. But it's just....yeah. A 7/10
(Tbh, I don't really get the fervour Remedy stir in people. The original Alan Wake 1 and American Nightmare I never completed and found competent but ultimately unremarkable, Control I thought was *thoroughly* boring. Max Payne were ok I guess, I've played both and remember nothing about them.)

I physX’ed my way through that bug. There’s green wheelbarrow that you can push all the way to cart #6 and just walk over it. Weird game, I like the setting and artistry that went into it, but then they throw a running away section in there where you basically have to die 4 times until you know exactly what to do.

You don't actually have to engage with it for the most part, only when it comes up in the corner in yellow while you're playing. It'll just autocomplete itself the rest of the time.

Great tip. Unfortunately I have OCD and so had to go to it every single time I got a new picture. I couldn't help myself.
