A roulette spin of decent to great items and an invite... got 500K so that was nice!
Also quite nice is inters on a dry race with no tyre wear set on are actually fine, put some on for the Nordschleife race in the Porsche Cup (my first attempt on racing tyres did not go well) and realised that he PP limit meant I was stuck with them in a sunny Italy. Glad I had them for Spa when the skies darkened and the rain came down.

Quite surprised by how many on here don't seem bothered about the always online issues. I'm not one to piss and moan like some have but I really don't like it. Am I right in thinking that when they switch the servers off (admittedly in what I expect will be in quite some time), we'll only have access to the arcade part of the game? As someone that likes to dig out old games from time to time, this would be shite. No the always online thing can do one. Frankly I’m annoyed that people are making more noise about the in game economy than this

I’m hoping (and half expect) it will be patched out eventually

Didn't Sport allow you to play the single player stuff when the servers were down?

I think so, but I seem to remember messages that said save your game before the downtime, because any progress when the servers are down will be lost.

Not had chance to play much of this, but I’m stuck. Just opened up the British tracks and have won the mini and beetle. Yet when I try and do the clubman cup it says I need sports tyres, but there is nowhere to buy them?

Well I’m always online, it’s 2022 after all, and I doubt I’ll be playing it in 5 years, which is probably nowhere near when they’ll switch the servers off. More like 10 years from now.
It’s a tiny minority who’ll be playing then and it makes way more business sense to keep the game online only for their monitoring of credits and data.
I’m more surprised that people don’t think of the ‘business’ first and foremost, over themselves. These guys are running a business, they want big data, so fair enough.
P.S, can I add anyone as a friend? I only have a couple of mates who have this game and want to compare times with more people. Decks, you seem like a lovely fella, can we be best friends on PSN?

Or buy the missing car.

Yeah the Fiat 500 F '68 completes menu 3 that unlocks the tuning shop, I can't remember which race it is you get it from but it should be marked with the symbol.

Won’t somebody please think of the massive global corporations? Polyphony Digital, of $8m turnover and 50 employees? So I’d say about $1m profit. Wow. It’s a business model, profit benefit, to have always online. You can just vote with your wallet and not buy the game, simple.

The 'always on' is done I believe as an anti-cheat measure in order for them to be FIA licensed. People were able to play silly bastards with their lap times offline so I don't think it's actually possible for them to do a proper offline mode without botching the FIA requirements. Which is shit, but there you go.

I see the penalty system is about as useful as the one in the F1 games. Just did a 10 lapper and got caught with three 4-second penalties; one when someone slammed into the side of me after skidding off the track and re-entering sideways and another 2 where I was blatantly brake checked. Really puts me off.

What’s the advice with buying cars? I have 300,000 now, spent a bit on tuning but I fancy buying a car.
What’s the best strategy; keep saving for a top, top car 1,000,000+ level, or get a mixture of different cars such as a good Road, Race etc…

I've bought a few I thought I needed - the most expensive being the Cayman GT4, 911 RSR, Ferrari 458 GT3 and also a Radical SR3 and a few more I can't remember atm. I haven't even contemplated spending more than 450,000 on a car.

You get plenty of cars from those events, and there's nearly always one which is eligible for the next set of events. Completing the licenses, even on bronze will also net you some extra cars. You might need to slap on some soft tires and a couple of weight reductions to be competitive, but that should be about it.

Tried to explain that to my son, money burns a hole in his pocket. Told him the menus lead you through the game, save it for after.

Not finished all the menus yet (on 32 I think), I think I've only had to buy one car as you couldn't win it to start a set of races and that was a pickup. Fortunately won all the races without upgrading it as I didn't really want to spend any money on it.

Ok that’s good then — thanks. I’ve sailed through the menus so far without buying, on number 17 now I think. I did spec up a Clio to 660 PP or something though. It’s incredible.
I fancy saving for a 1m+ Lamborghini or Porsche. You know, treat myself.

Don't forget. If you enter the manufacturer championship you will get lent a gt3 and gt4 car from a manufacturer of your choice.

Just had a really decent race in the C event for Sport mode. Started 11th, finished 3rd.
I've got it figured at Daytona you can run in fuel mix 1 for the oval section, mix 3 for the infield section and stop at the end of lap 5 and you'll have just enough to finish the race. I've been losing far too much on the straights up to now by running too low a fuel mix for too long. Best just going hell for leather on the power sectors.

When in a championship is there any record of the individual race positions you got? Used to drive me crazy not getting all golds but here I can’t see if it even notes what you got and only cares about number of points

Just get the golds on the licenses. International b gives you some tasty cars. Did take me a while to get the golds though..

Why have I yet to come across these races Just changed the force feedback settings for my G29 wheel. Max torque at 3 and sensitivity down to 2. Much better. A bit of rumble from the wheel when in a slide now and can actually feel it go. This was in a Porsche 911 with TC which I don't usually run set at 1

Why have I yet to come across these races It might not be that useful - I've just read you can't change the tyres on them from RH, which mean you the game isn't allowing you to do cusotmisation on it. But as a way of spending a few weeks trying out some cars you might not otherwise be able to afford, its ok.

So there's literally no sense in hoping for anything more from the gacha boxes right? Everytime I always get the lowest amount of credits.
