My ps5 arrives today, so I’ll be on gt7 tomorrow evening. Is everybody playing on Manual gears? Yes, and all assists of for me other than a bit of ABS and traction control when needed.

God that fucking hairpin challenge in the National A license is so tough to get gold. I can never get above bronze even though I feel I am doing it right if you're playing on controller, maybe on wheel too but I don't have one, go into settings and turn off countersteer assistance, it's still tricky but it's a lot easier. Holy shit. Done in one. Unreal what a difference that made. Cheers!

It's really annoying me having this installed and begging to be played, and I'm balls deep with Elden Ring. Still can't get the wheel out yet though.

Some great racing last night, and sorry again for leaving it open that one time and letting that fella in the F1 car lap us all.
Midweek for a regular session would be good for me, just hope they sort the UX soon.
Not being able to change race settings is a right pain, and not having any sort of results screen with lap breakdowns is a big oversight. But hopefully that'll be patched in soon.

Haha, that open race was quite amusing. Other than 1 or 2 extreme cars, it was just like a random game of pool down the local. You don't know what you are going to get.

The user interface is total bollocks though. We would all understand if the game needs to load a new track but keep everyone in the same lobby. Can't be that hard Shirley.

Just to say, I love the Porsche 917 Living Legend. What a car.

Set up a 20 car grid start custom race with tire wear and shit earlier today. Crazy that there's not more of it in the career mode considering how well it works. Had to really battle the AI on hard.

Is there any option to qualify in the custom races?

I’m shocked I’ve left it this long to get another wheel. Never going back to a pad again.

I’d have another wheel in a heartbeat but I just can’t be arsed to store and set one up. No doubt it’s the best way to play this game.

The challenge when you need to draft two cars in the vintage Porsche and reach a certain speed… I’m really carefully lining my car up behind the first, even switched from cockpit to external to do so, pulling aside at the last second to pick the other one up and yet I can just about scrape Bronze at best. What am I missing (apart from a 5th gear)?

Having the same problem. Watched a vid and they stayed in 3rd as long as possible, other than that it's about the right moment to pulled out into the 2nd slipstream. I managed silver but can't get the timing right for gold.

If you’re loving GT7 and have a bit of disposable cash, I can’t recommend the T300 enough. Can’t comment on other wheels, but hopefully they’re at least as good.

mcgeeza I'm using a G29 wheel and that's probably considered to be rather basic. It feels great but I can't drift to save my life. The drifting missions for example seem impossible but on a pad I have no problems at all. No idea what the problem is other than the controller offering a quicker steering reaction?

I managed silver but can't get the timing right for gold. It's possible you've got a wind problem (!), if you have a head wind it may not make it possible, check the wind indicator under the map. It's fairly random so leaving and going back in may change it.
I found it a pretty easy challenge and I still couldn't figure out how gamingdave had hit 121.8 but I ended up doing the same, changing up at 91MPH seems pretty vital.

I had another try and got the gold at 121.8 as well.

Also had to buy some M6 20mm screws because the ones that came with the stand were awful. Still trying to find the most comfortable position as braking doesn’t seem comfortable.

I’ve not got to the drift stuff yet, but I’ll let you know how the T300 gets on with it when I do. I find it easier to recover a skid on the pad too, so that makes sense. The fact that you can instantly snap the wheel to any position is definitely an advantage over the wheel in certain circumstances. Not much you can do about that though obvs.

My real life experience of drifting says, you don't need to correct the drift anywhere as much as you will naturally be inclined to.

Okay so booted this up last night and it’s great, however are you not allowed to drive manual in certain cars? I’ve picked a Japanese small car to start and even when I pick manual it reverts to automatic?

Some of the electric vehicles don't have gears.

The Toyota Aqua is a hybrid, its gearbox only has drive (D) and brake (B), which uses engine braking but isn't the game. Probably reverse as well but I've never been in a position to need it.

The daily races have changed. Daily Race C as made an appearance too (10laps, with fuel and tyre changes).
I'm loving this. Trying to not over play it, but its so fun to play. The online racing is fantastic. Every race was thrilling in some way. Plenty of close clean racing.

Was watching Super GT streaming the daily races last night and that was a fun watch, the Daytona races were very entertaining. It did show the track limits on the road course need fixing though, on the chicane at the end you can cut so drastically you should be using dirt tyres, it's lawnmower time.
So if you're getting out qualified on the course that could be why.

Yeah I watched a bit of that, did you see the one where he just snuck passed him on the finish line?
