I remember that interview where Fergie was apoplectic at the performance after winning a cup with Aberdeen. Imagine how he'd have reacted to these losers. Ten Hag will probably say we played well.

I don't know if this is my anti-ManU bias but every time I've watched Man U (and Chelsea while we're at it) this season they're incredibly lucky to get whatever result they end up with. There's no cohesion, just relying on their talented players to produce occasional moments of quality in front of goal, and crossing their fingers when being counter-attacked. Did you think it was a penalty to Coventry?

A very cool take that describes the team to a tee yes. I’ll be taking my shirt off before I leave the house (it’s a City cesspit round here) and it’s not good enough, but a goal there was from a pen that shouldn’t have been given, and wasn’t given against Jack Grealish yesterday. That’s ruining the game more than VAR calls on offsides. Then arguably Utd should have been awarded one of their own for the same issue if that’s what we’re having. But yes it’s quite embarrassing and there’s a losing heads thing that goes on when we are scored against, seemingly by anybody. There’s no arrogance or b*llocks in the team that I think top sports performers need. Coventry should feel proud and it would have been good for City to have been knocked out of the CL and then celebrate a win in the FA cup against Coventry. That would have been a great alternative timeline.

VAR has totally ruined an iconic fa cup moment there. Hope City thrash them in the final. Surely being offside is the bit that ruined the moment? It would have been glorious but the guy was clearly offside. Depends if you believe VAR is acurate enough to judge those tight offside calls. Personally I'm not convinced.

Knackered after that. Just absolutely shat the bed and look nothing like a team from when their first goal went in. Slow and ponderous before that but at least got the goals. Toxic in the utd and and cleared out quick.
ETH has to go, and the team needs clearing out too.

The right decision is the only one that matters though. Every single one of you would have been fuming if you had lost to an offside goal that was given. Doesn't matter if it's an inch or a foot, it's either on or off.

VAR can't win.

I think we need to go to VAR to check that.

Yeah that's edited, the lines on the telly showed him as being off even though it wasn't by much.

The long shot before they added the lines actually made him appear a lot more offside than he ended up being.
Tough on them but the correct decision.

Looked well off without lines tbf.
For a minute though, it was perhaps the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

Yeah it was crazy how close it was when the lines were drawn, as you said he looked a mile off.

I made Sheaf sky the penalty.
Not looking forward to the thrashing were going to get in the final or any other game frankly.

Well this will be one of the least enjoyable FA Cup Finals. Both shit house teams.

Could you imagine back in the day when teams would reel out a song for the final. Get a cover of Tragedy going.
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on It's tragedy

They need to upgrade to a 4090 and better monitors at VAR central, the pixelated slush they are making decisions on is sad.
Shouldn't be changing games on the end of toenail decisions anyway, but that horse has bolted already.
Maybe the Prem teams can chip in to help as they are not bothered contributing to the league pyramid, make it a tax deductible on their bloated overspends

It's a tricky one really. I don't think they look at offsides as a clear and obvious error, rather they go by the drawing of the lines, which sometimes looks fucking dubious to me. There has to be better technology out there. Surely a computer could take a digital scan of the player, then look at it from top down. At the moment it looks like a couple of monkeys just drawing lines in paint.

Are you guys living under a rock or something? The Premier league literally announced they're moving to the semi autonomous one used by UEFA last week.
Yes I understand that the toenail offside prevented everyone's lolz, but it's absolutely nothing new and it is being addressed...to an extent.

I look forward to the reactions in the premier league thread if city win the league with a "toenail offside" goal being allowed in the 97th minute. I'm sure they will be identical to the ones shown here.

C’mon, that’s not fair most of us don’t even like our own teams so of course we’ll be slagging City off when the time comes

VAR discussions in the FA Cup are different anyway, as you have the ridiculous situation that some games have it and others don't.
