Just noticed Adrian is still at Liverpool lol. Must be something wrong with me. I'd rather anybody, including Man City, won than Liverpool. Agreed, Liverpool are the worst winners and worst losers in history. I’m sure their fans will celebrate later by smashing up their own city, which of course will be ignored by the god awful sycophantic media If they get close to the quadruple it will become even more unbearable….

Jeez the bitterness in here.
It’s like everyone forgot about Utd, Chelsea and City winning everything in sight for years with the media lapping it up.

To be fair, we've hated Liverpool in here for a long time so this shouldn't be a surprise unless you're new.
That said, I'm enjoying Chelsea far too much to be put off by the awful fawning.

Fawning entitlement vs the Chelsea circus did make this one very difficult to root for either team today.
I suppose this is the lesser evil even if they’re making it very difficult for us to feel that way.

I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than watch Chelsea win so much as a wooden spoon but this fawning and favouritism is utterly pathetic. It might as well be the Liverpool channel. You’re not wrong, but the fawning over United for the best part of 20 years was no different. Still happens now the minute they win a couple of games. But then they pile on and do the opposite as soon as something goes wrong.

You can throw whatever bits of whataboutery you want at it. I'm struggling to think of a domestic game where the coverage was more or less supporting one team over the other to the degree they did today. Fair fucks it's Chelsea and it's always funny seeing them fall short but it's absolutely intolerable to listen to that sort of carry on.

Have the game hosted by Kenny Dalglish’s daughter, with Kenny himself in attendance. Then have Daniel Sturridge in the studio who’s clearly got more affection for the reds than the blues, supported by Jamie Redknapp. Then of course have Carragher squealing away on co-commentary. I was however a bit surprised by just how anti Chelsea Gary Neville was. Maybe he found it hilarious too…

All the talk of the Liverpool side being young seemed really overblown.

You can't win anything with kids
Who have been haphazardly bought from all different places and don't get much opportunity to build team cohesion

It was less about age and more about experience. The Liverpool side was considerably less experienced especially by the end as Klopp had to keep on bringing on players who had barely played at senior level. It was a gamble as the occasion could easily have got to them.

It's fine. They'll crumble when Klopp goes. I can also see Salah fucking off as well.

To provide a bit of balance on here, it is nice to see young players given a chance and I thought the youngsters did really well when they came on.

Admittedly, a lot of the Liverpool ire is due to the conversation surrounding them. I'm sure if they were just reported on normally, it'd be less irritating.
Though Klopp saying it's his "most special trophy"....sure.

I thought they pretty much all looked bang average or worse, and would probably have been used as part of a Klopp rant if they lost. The talk of this being the new kids to replace Klopps old team is just silly.
Chelsea are just so crap it is funny.

Yeah sure, it's just that an experienced spine with youngsters out on the wings or coming off the bench isn't that unusual.
As F365 articulated, it was ridiculous to create a narrative that Liverpool were plucky underdogs rather than strong favourites.
Of the possible outcomes 120mins with Chelsea ultimately losing was optimal, so big thanks to 'Klopp's kids' for that.
Though the argument that it would cost Chelsea more money to compete in the Conference League than not (due to UEFA FFP fines) would've been fun to test.

Issue I have is that there's only 3 that you could call particularly inexperienced, who came on at the end of the 90 or in ET. The others have all been in an around the squad for yonks. Impressive, sure, but it's not like the whole team was Academy players.

Apparently the Liverpool team defies logic! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68398914In the unlikely event Southampton beat them on Wednesday I'll be laughing rather hard. Come on you Saints!

Wenger knew the competition was for a showcase for young players. As much as I dislike the love for Liverpool, I have to praise Klopp for doing it (despite injuries of course).

The conversation about the team who are top of the league beating the team who are 11th has become pretty ridiculous. All the newspapers are going with some combination of Klopp’s kids or game on for quadruple.
The player who scored the winning goal is the most expensive player in his position in PL history so its not like Liverpool are a team who haven’t spent a lot under Klopp even if he always insists otherwise.
Although it is obviously funnier and better that Chelsea’s splurge has failed so specularly than if they’d won. Even if the press are treating the PL leaders winning the league cup as if its a Leicester 2016 moment.

Really it only highlights even more how ripped off their moron owners have been for that crop of players. They were hardly playing the Galacticos, just a bunch of expensively assembled misfits bought by the biggest mug football has ever seen.
