Every Newcastle and Sunderland supporter I know thinks their team are going to lose tomorrow.
Considering its at the Stadium of Light, Newcastle are completely shagged out and have lost six or seven on the bounce, while Sunderland have a young up for it squad and a new manager; I wouldn’t call them favourites but you wouldn’t be shocked or surprised.
Any other team outside the play-off places you’d expect Newcastle to dig in and be professional but I think an away derby is something different.
Of course the other way of looking at it is that even with a couple of academy lads in the team the other nine players who started against Liverpool cost about £300m and Sunderland’s entire squad cost something like £30m and I’m sure I read is the youngest in the football league.

Just back from the spurs game. Wasn’t great but what a goal from Porro. Richi seemed to have reverted to last years model and Johnson’s final ball needs a lot of work. I thought Davies was excellent again tonight, but I heard he’s done his hamstring? It’s getting a bit ridiculous now.
A few scares but job done.

That’s the first full Burnley match I’ve watched this season I genuinely couldn’t tell what was an attempt at an intricate passing move and what was them trying to cling onto possession as the ball slalomed and pinballed between their players of its own accord.

Both in stripes is fucking stupid.

Striped shirts on both teams seems a strange one.

Bloody hell stripes on stripes really isn’t ideal here. Relying on the shorts to tell which team they’re on.

Let’s see if that absolute hype piece before kick off on Jobe comes good.

Are you all watching on black and white tvs? The players look distinct enough to me both wearing stripes.
Newcastle look a lot fitter than they did through December but that might just be because Sunday aren’t pressing like a Premier League side

When they’re all crowded together it’s hard to see what’s happening. It’s also tiring to watch. Amazed it’s allowed from an accessibility perspective. Must be fucked if you’re colourblind.

Never a pen but that should spice things up I think it’s a pen. Or at least a foul outside the box. He’s grabbed his shirt and gets zero touch on the ball. Obviously the usual rose-tinted ‘in my day’ punditry thinks it’s an amazing tackle.

Thats fair. They usually like completely different socks, shorts and shirt these days so a full change would have made sense. Newcastle could’ve worn their national colours to really hammer home the levels between the clubs.

Obviously the usual rose-tinted ‘in my day’ punditry thinks it’s an amazing tackle. Its definitely not a tackle but I think they’ve got enough on each other that you could let it go. Its one of those you’d almost certainly give if it was on the halfway line but doesn’t feel like enough for a pen
