Great afternoon, not the best we've played but defended so well and Newcastle never really threatened because we smothered absolutely everything near the box. Great team performance.
It's great that we'll get this progress season before the qataris come in and ruin everything.

It did look like it was going wide, but apparently the defender was too close to count it bouncing off his foot as an OG.
Presumably, that means Big Wout got an assist, too.

Weird, I'm happy for him and you always prefer to see the goal given to the striker but it just seemed pretty clear it was going wide from the replay.
His unbelievable run continues.

Don't know how true that story is about Casemiro watching the Brentford game and phoning his agent saying "Tell them I'll fix it", but it does add to his profile, which he has proven in his time at the club. In truth, Casemiro has been incredible but then so has Martinez and Eriksen. And really Ten Haag to be able to elevate Rashford, Fred, Shaw, Wan Bissaka. At some point we'll lose a game or two, it's only natural, but going in this season my biggest ambition would be to see the start of the club building up to something and be a team I'm happy to watch again. So for me this season is already successful and has me looking forward to watching them again.

The weight of the turnaround in such a short space of time is truly unbelievable. Sure, we're getting back to where we 'should' have been all along given what we spend compared to others, but half of these players were getting fucking trounced week in, week out last season and are now one of the form teams in Europe. Even if it goes tits up for him here given the state of the club at board level, ETH will waltz into another big job.

Ronaldo would absolutely front out that it was a medal and that scoring a weekly hat-trick against Saudi Sunday leaguers is just as legitimate as Messi bagging CL goals at PSG
