What's the deal with Balder's gate 3?
Seems like a big release but no main thread. Has everybody already Early Access'd it?

Yeah, wondered that the other day. Seems to have a very unusual amount of hype for a CRPG but not so much on this forum... I'll probably hold off and grab it as a winter game. Quite curious to see how the console version pans out too.

Played total 10 minutes... didn't even go through whole intro after character creation. A friend of mine got it and loves early access so convinced me to get it over Starfield. We might mp as well.

Noticed while downloading my weekly free game from Epic that there is a Telltale - The Expanse game incoming.
I thought Telltale had died, but apparently at least some part of them lives on.
I didn't make it past the end of season 1 of the show, but the game looks kinda interesting. I just wonder if it'll be possible to enjoy the game without having watched more of the show.

I need to pull my finger out and finish the last two books. I'd say probably OK to jump into the game if it's a prequel. You've got the gist of who the main players are already which should be enough.

It's a THQ type thing from what I remember. Owned by a new company that bought some of the rights.

They won't have any users left!
Does anyone remember when they last accessed their Uplay account?
It seems like a dumb move, because it's not actually costing them anything to keep the users, and you'd think keeping a user who has a small chance of buying something in the future would be preferable to pissing off a user who probably won't come back.

Started playing Marvel's Midnight Sun yesterday. I was surprised to discover that it is much more card game than it is X-com with cards. I thought it was going to control like what we had seen in the recent X-com games, but abilities would be done with cards.
Stripping it down so movement and positioning doesn't matter too much is probably a sensible streamlining, but it does feel much more simplified (at least in the first couple of hours). I expect they could have had more interesting ideas going on with leaning more into the X-com side of things. Instead, it seems to just be a simple 3D Magic-like.
Still, I've been enjoying what I've seen so far. I always like a card game, so I'm not too turned off by the approach.

Unfortunately I still see it all too often. It is absurd that if you buy something on Steam, it still forces you to run a publisher specific launcher like Ubisoft Connect or whatever nonsense EA replaced Origin with at the same time. Worse when the Remember Password bit of the Ubi one is quite temperamental about which games it works for and the ones it simply doesn't.

It's truly a terrible app and as you say when UPlay continually asks for your password even after you used it a day ago is infuriating. I don't get it, consoles don't have this issue.

Just in case it hasn't been mentioned yet:
"Vampire The Masquerade - Swansong" is now on Steam after initially having been an Epic exclusive. (50 € is pretty hefty though)
"Witchfire" is going into Early Access on Epic on September 20th. Should eventually also arrive on Steam.

Ah FFS. Really enjoyed the first one and was well up for more of that.
Felt like the first decent original thing they've done in years (even if it was just a BOTW and AC mash up)

Ubisoft must've cancelled more games than they've actually released in the past few years (and yet, somehow, Skull and Bones is still due out at some stage).
It's kind of funny - back when I got into gaming, way back in 2015, people would react to Ubisoft's name the way those actors in Blackadder reacted to hearing 'Macbeth'.
Over the next few years, Ubi slowly but surely redeemed themselves...
... Only to shit the bed again with Breakpoint, and they've been on a steady decline ever since.
Maybe time really *is* a flat circle.

Shit. Totally forgot this was a thing. Loved the first one as well. Hmmmm. Downloaded this tonight, at first wasn't too enamoured, but once got through the tutorial it has really grown on me. Very early days, but so far so good.

I keep being tempted to get this in sales, but then I always wonder whether I should just pay more (x5!) and get one of the Zelda games. So I end up getting nothing. *shrug*

Very early days, but so far so good. Yeah I folded and grabbed it as I recalled how much I loved the first one and it's meant to be better than that, so it should be a no brainer. Hopefully have chance for a quick look later tonight.

@bill - get it. I know that I made a BOTW comparison above but that's doing it a disservice. It's a fine game in its own right.
Although yeah, BOTW or TOTK are both undoubtedly better games.

That Greek thingy…I only got a few minutes in, climbing a blimmin’ big statue or something.
It was recommended to me as BotW for those without a current Ninty machine.
It seems really good; I just need to find the time!
