My only real criticism of it would be that BIG SPOILER the true/good ending was hidden behind a mechanic to which there is no real clue or signposting during the course of normal play but its an absolute joy to play and the art direction is tremendous. Some fantastic looking bosses and locations. Very impressed that the expansions are free and are proper additional quests, locations, bosses etc that look as good as anything in the base game. Other games would easily be charging ten or fifteen quid for these.

Another thumbs up on Creaks - played that last Christmas on the iPad through Apple Arcade - good length game, right amount of friction for what it is. Plays well enough on an elderly iPad.
That news about blasphemous makes me want to double dip and get it on switch.

simpleI didn't even know that about the ending tbh! Yeah they've really put so much extra into it and it's for that reason I really should give it another play.

I only stumbled across it watching a youtube lore video so went back in and did it. There’s zero chance I’d have even attempted it otherwise.

Might play through Blasphemous again for the new stuff. I did a second playthough with the first DLC and the Penitence of the Bleeding Heart (changes the health bar to orbs and makes enemies respawn when you go off screen). It made the game more difficult to start with as any hit from an enemy takes off an orb but ends up being easier later on when you've got a lot more orbs than at the start and a boss can only knock one off per hit rather than a chunk of damage. Really fun game. Miserable, but fun

Shadow Gangs 2 could be a thing, if the KickStarter somehow reaches £500,000

I was on the PS Store and there's a platformer which you seemingly control by singing into the microphone called One Hand Clapping A chance for some of you to showcase your lovely, lovely voice I'm sure. It's also on Switch if you'd like to be a travelling show

Shadow Gangs 2 could be a thing, if the KickStarter somehow reaches £500,000 If only he hadn't been banned here there would've been a chance... Funnily enough I found a rule on my Gmail account that I'd set up specifically for SG Kickstarter update emails the other day, so he must've spammed the shit out of it before I got fed up.

Useful thread, this, as I can now wax lyrical about Rage 2 which I fired up on GamePass today for the first time. It's pretty fucking good! iD shootybangs in an Avalanche world and I'm a self-confessed icon-slurper? Victory!
I'm sure it'll settle into samey rhythms before too long, but so far I'm having a blast with it!

It’s not bad but the Mad Max game was better

Yeah, I was a fan of that also. Combat in Rage 2 seems like a step up though and I'm digging the FPS viewpoint. Mad Max's encampments also got a bit aggravating by the halfway point, which I imagine will happen in Rage also. Either way, it reminded my that I really like what Avalanche do so I'm excited for whatever they punt out next.

I like their Just Cause games, though I've never finished any of them. Hang gliding and hookshotting everything is good fun.

I've convinced the girlfriend to play Dragon Quest Builders 2 and she's obsessed already. Such a big game, but it was good stuff. Made it hard to go back to Minecraft without friends.

I played the demo for Builders 2. It's surprisingly generous, you can build as much as you like and even explore other creations online.
It's a nice concept, I should probably buy the game at some point but I know I'd lose a lot of hours to it

I tried dirt 5 last night and i think although I quite fancied another racing game after playing alot of dirt 2.0, the style of this one is far too offputting. The menus and announcer stuff is all so ott

Oh yeah, I turned off the radio DJs/announcers whatever. It's a lot more enjoyable if you disable the dumb radio story it's going for. I know a lot of people on this site didn't like it, but I found the racing fun and arcadey, almost like a call back to Sega Rally. As long as you look at as that, or as a successor to Dirts 2 and 3 and not Rally 2.0, it's enjoyable. IMO.

I started Creaks the other day. It's good fun, so cheers for convincing me to buy it. Like how straightforward it is, not the puzzles, just the general design. No guff, you simply go room to room and solve clever little puzzles with fairly simple mechanics.
It's currently £4.79 on the PS store if anyone else is interested.
Lost in Random is on sale too, which actually upsets me at this point. It released around 3 months ago and is already less than half price. Clearly hasn't done well at all.

I gave up on that pretty sharpish. The damage type mechanic was OK, but it just wasn't clicking with me after an hour or so. Seems to be highly regarded, so maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance.
It's got an utterly fucking ridiculous name.

Indeed, if I wasn’t a metroidvania dude I’d maybe stopped as it’s a slow start, but I love the art and music.

You need to tick the Steam "Allow Adults Only Games" box for that video.
