South African Bunny Chow is a good bread meal. A hollowed out load of bread filled with curry. Ahh, like A Gatsby. They're great.

The venn diagram of delicious cakes and hats suitable for Ascot is a circle. As someone who had to brave the Ascot train for few days every year, I can tell you that many Ascot goers are so wasted that I could see them confusing a cake for a hat.

Interesting. That's a combo I'd never considered. Probably due to my lactose intolerance. Lactose free milk has been a game changer round our way. The girl is like 60% Bourbons and was absolutely bereft when she couldnt dunk them in milk anymore. We tried all the alternatives but nothing stuck until we got some Arla in (thankfully Bourbons are actually milk free as are oreos, so go nuts). Thats not very unpopular.... uhm.... Hob Nobs are overrated. Biscuits are about their simplicity and the ability to smash half a packet in two minutes. Hob Nobs insist upon themselves. Hob Nobs are like eating chipboard.

Anyone who dunks biscuits in their cuppa (save Rich Tea) or anything else (crumpets, toast etc) is a complete wrong-un.

People only pretend to like Hobnobs because of the Peter Kay joke.

Hob nobs are top tier dunkers you absolute wronguns!
My new favourite is chocolate malted milk. Make a sandwich out of them and dunk in a nice mug of tea.

The only acceptable way to eat crumpets is slathered in so much butter and marmite, it's dripping out the bottom and leaving buttery marmite blobs on the plate.

People dip crumpets and toast in drinks? My mate does, he's a weirdo. I've seen him dunk a sausage roll and a ham sandwich in there.

Nah I'll dunk almost any biscuit in a coffee - top tier dunking biscuits are malted milk or hob nobs

In other unpopular opinions news- the debate raging in my house at the moment is whether homemade chocolate brownies should be cake-y or squidgy/fudgey. I'm team fudgey, Mrs hedben just thinks that means they're undercooked.

Bit of both? Cake-y on the outsides, a bit fudgey in the middle.

I know for an absolute certainty: anyone who doesn't like Hob Nobs would not be liked by even the friendliest Hobbit in The Shire

Oh, and for a really unpopular opinion - pasta is shit. All types. I don't mind, and even like most pasta, but not spaghetti or the long bastard linguine. It just ends up splattering about and flicking sauce everywhere. Too faffy to eat with dignity.

Fresh pasta is great and cooks in a few minutes.
As far as flavour carriers go pasta>rice.

Rice is boring too but better than pasta at least. I’ve always found it weird that rice is grown, and not made like pasta.
