Havaianas make massively overrated and uncomfortable flipflops.

I kind of find all flip flops uncomfortable. Give me a nice slide.

I prefer sandals that have straps around the ankle, not a fan of flip-flops or slides.

Speaking of socks, I hate those tiny "no-show" socks.

Speaking of socks, I hate those tiny "no-show" socks. Do you mean those really low cut weird ones that look like they just about cover your sole?

Invisible socks are pretty much universally shit. You'll end up with blisters on your heel that they fail to protect.
Ones that have a little bit showing are fine.

I'm fine with ankle socks, which is what I thought he was referring to. Those thin like slips meant for women in heels look rough though.

I've seen guys wearing those low cut socks with dress shoes and short trousers and it just looks grim, like they're wearing no socks at all.

I like The Titanic and don't understand the hate it gets.
It's pretty epic.

Yea I don't mind it, the first hour does drag a bit and seeing as the big set pieces were generally filmed on a lifesize set they stand up really well, I watched it in the cinema on its 20th anniversary, definitely a big screen worthy movie.

I've not seen it for well over a decade, and have only seen it maybe twice, so any of my comments are based on half remembered points.
I don't hate it, but it's over if those films that really nails the production design, as it looks pretty amazing and had lots of period detail. But the core love story just wasn't all that interesting to me.
I guess it's a bit like Cameron's Avatar in that regard, in that it looks very good, sounds very good, is very epic, but can't escape from the very, let's say classic, narrative underpinning it.
(Titanic is better than Avatar, to give credit where it's due).

The whole lovey-dovey storyline is merely a sideline to a great action movie for me. That said I can't really bring myself to watch it very often and it's definitely not one of those films I could watch or dip in and out of whenever it's on eg Alien, Terminator, Predator etc.

The only good Cameron films were the first two Terminators.

The only good Cameron films were the first two Terminators. That really is an unpopular opinion.

Yeah, box office disagrees with me heavily.
But that's what this thread is for.
