I can only assume you go to bed at a reasonable hour if you want to be woken up by the sun blinding you in the face. I tend to go to bed between 10.30 and midnight. Unless I'm drinking, in which case it can be more like anywhere between 1.30 and 3am. I'm not a great sleeper. But I found blackout blinds did nothing to help. I'd still wake up, but then as I couldn't see fuck all I'd have to put the light on anyway. Also find waking up in a pitch dark room makes my sleep inertia a lot, lot worse and makes me feel really quite groggy.

I like sleeping with the curtains open too. I just like the moonlight plus sun in the morning. Having a window open slightly as well so I can hear outside and get fresh air
Pitch black silence is too much like a tomb

People who get up early are just afraid to stay awake after it gets dark.

Never understood people's fixation on bright evenings. What is it people are doing outside in the evenings that can't be done under artificial light? It is certainly nice to sit outside in a beer garden during the evening, but I can do that when it is dark. What people really want is warm evenings.
Bright mornings are so much more important. I hate having to wake up when it is still dark and definitely brings my mood down for the day compared to when we are in Summer and can wake up with the light.

I love long late summer evenings and the darkness of the winter, gives the year a proper rhythm.

You are right about the warm part but I love sitting out in the summer evenings, bbqing and listening to radio or podcasts. And sitting in that evening sun is good for you too. Gives you a boost and vitamin d hit that gets missed over winter. It does help that once you hit May/June here the temps don't go below 20 degrees for 3 or 4 months.

Plus the warmness tends to depart with the sun. I don't think I'd want to sit under a tree in a park and try and read a book in the *dark* either. At least not if I wanted to make it home alive.
Maybe it depends if you're a morning or evening person. I'm definitely not a morning person, so bright mornings aren't a thing I want.

All of this, but especially about not being a morning person.

Goodfellas just isn't that good a film.

I don’t agree that it’s not great (it’s fantastic), but my unpopular opinion is that Casino is better.

People who get up early are just afraid to stay awake after it gets dark. It is funny you say that. When I was at university I started not sleeping at night. Bang on 09:00 I was out for the count. After seeing a counsellor, he came to the conclusion that I was afraid of the dark. I assume, as I cannot drive or swim, I am scared of moving slower or gas based environments to traverse. Okay

Yeah, I was slightly disappointed with Casino at the time as I thought it was just a Goodfellas rehash with distinctly less 'likeable' characters, but you can see now it's the beginning of Scorsese becoming more elegiac which leads directly to The Irishman. Goodfellas is great, but it's more of a quickfire 'romp'. Casino is much more downbeat, which fits with Las Vegas being the neon purgatory it's made out to be in the film. To this day, I'm still sad we only get the R-rated US version in all territories. I remember watching it in the cinema and dat eyepopping was much juicier in the uncut version we got in the UK.

Casino looks wonderful in 4k, btw. A perfect upgrade with no revisionist HDR meddling and the neon absolutely jumps off the screen.

This Stadia thing (chromecast Ultra + pad) I had in a deal is alright. Had a cheap golf game and happily playing using the pad with my ipad these last few weeks.
Runs better than the xbox streaming stuff where I'm based.

TBH I don't think anyone doubted the tech works excellently, it's more the cost of games / unclear store offering / gradual loss of support that scuppers it. I got one 'free' with purchase of cyberpunk, and it worked great but I was never compelled to keep subscribing.

Yeah, it works well. Google already seem to have all but dropped it, so you'll probably only get to play the games you "own" for a couple more years before it joins the Google graveyard.
Geforce now worked fantastically for me, but I just couldn't be arsed paying for yet another sub when it came out of beta.

The Michael Bay produced, somebody else directed Ninja Turtles films... not actually that bad.
Post influenced by checking the leaving Netflix articles and seeing them dropping all their Toitles films.
