Hank as in Hank Marvin... (I don't have any clue who Cold Hank is, I'm afraid)

My dad calls them banjos as well. It started off as a navel term apparently.

My Boxing Day sandwich is the greatest thing ever. Everyone recoils in horror when I tell them what’s in it, then declares it a work of art once they actually try it.
Two thick slices of crusty soft white bread, thickly spread mayo on one and peanut butter on the other. Fill generously with leftover turkey and halved green olives.

Don't think anybody is disagreeing that you can go ahead and put bacon in a sandwich with other stuff (club sandwiches are great!) You just can't call it a bacon sarnie any more when there's more than butter, bacon and a condiment in there. It's the law. I concur.

Shovel Knight is kinda meh It is, isn't it. I'd have smashed it had my mum paid £50 for it in 1993, but these days I have money for better games

I'd have smashed it had my mum paid £50 for it in 1993, but these days I have money for better games The point I was trying to make is that it's an ok nostalgia game but not more. Actual great games of that nostalgic era like Mega Man, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Metroid piss all over it. I just don't get how it's considered this fantastic retro game while some original games of those eras were much better.

Levels too long and it's just kind of boring. I hate dropping loot on death as well

Scorsese has made some brilliant films but more than half are overlong and boring, like Wolf of Wall Street.
Same for Tarantino.

Tarantino's films are shite. I wouldn't go that far, but I'm lukewarm at best.

See, I haven't enjoyed a single one. I've tried. At the time I think I convinced myself I liked Pulp Fiction because everybody else did, but I really hated it. It's hard to watch a film when every character is a fucking dick and you can't root for anyone, but that seems to be his films and what he populates them with.

Ah come on, Butch is a great character. So are Jules and Vincent. They're all ace, with the exception of the character he plays himself. Mostly because he can't act. One of my absolute favourite films ever, definitely top 5. A very unpopular opinion in my book, so thread checks out. As for the rest of QT, I mostly either like or love them. There are a few that don't quite hit the mark but are all worth watching imo.

Jackie Brown is his best movie. Not sure if that is an unpopular opinion, but I do assume anyone who thinks QT is shite hasn't seen it.

Jackie Brown is the only one I'm remotely fussed about. The rest... meh. Some have their moments, but the idea that he's this amazing auteur doing things no one else could just makes me chuckle.

Jackie Brown was ok. He's had quite a few stinkers that people just seem to forgive because it's QT and you clearly don't get it if you don't like it.
One upon a time in Hollywood was shite.

He's definitely not that. I like (mostly) the stories he tells/pinches and he Def has an ear for what soundtrack it should be accompanied by.

I get why seemingly uncritical veneration by some could put you off him. I'd say it's fair to call him overrated. He can be great though, and a recent rewatch of Pulp Fiction convinced me it stands up now (overwatched it as a student back in the day).
Reservoir Dogs - still very good.
Hollywood I enjoyed, but didn't think it was great.
Jackie Brown, as mentioned: fantastic.
Django - not for me. Inglorious Basterds - nope. My wife loves it, mind.
I can't bring myself to watch The Hateful Eight. Does anyone recommend watching it?
So, in short: a couple of classics, and a few overrated movies with enjoyable bits but badly in need of editing down.

Redemption for Dougs! Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds are amazing and all of his films have something to enjoy. I'm pretty sure it helps that I was the right sort of age when RD and PF came out though.

I can't bring myself to watch The Hateful Eight. Does anyone recommend watching it? Not that my opinion matters but I love it. Must've watched it like 5 times already. It's kinda slow to get tense, but man when it does ... As for my unpopular opinion, I think Nintendo are the the most overrated company in gaming. They just keep regurgigating the same shit with just improved graphics. I don't understand why people are willing to buy Mario Kart, Zelda, Metroid over and over and over. Sheeptendo?

I've seen Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill 1&2, Reservoir Dogs & Deathproof and that's quite enough for me. Fucking crap.
Oh and Inglourious Basterds.

Hateful 8 and Django Unchained are better enjoyed as 3 hour mini series.

The last Zelda was completely different to previous ones, the new Metroid is the first in a decade and it's been longer since we had a 3d one, fair enough on Mario Kart but "worst company in gaming" is just silly.
