He's a nostalgia trip and teenage heartthrob for lots of middle-aged people. And lots of twenty-somethings were raised on the Pirates of the Carribbean films. I do remember him getting a lot more stick during the UK trial, though. I find Amber Heard much more attractive. Innocent |

I’ve not followed the trial at all but it was on TV just now and it was strange how she’s clearly trying to act emotional but she’s not very good at it so comes across as deranged
She’d be better off just explaining what happened instead of serving up the ham

I think the reason why it's so divisive is that it's so potentially damaging for the progress that the metoo movement has made. With such a high profile case that was taken at face value so swiftly in order to redress the balance anyone who is seen as making false allegations has to be excised in order to keep the validity of the movement going.
I can understand how when you see snippets on the news it's all very they're both toxic, but I haven't seen anything that's made me think Depp is an abuser yet. Especially when her claims are so over the top and then not corroborated with any sufficient evidence or witnesses. She's claiming people saw most of this abuse and none of them have been called to testify or have died.

Despite Heard's lawyer's attempts to convince a jury it does, in place of any actual credible evidence or testimony. |

I don't get the feeling that he's inherently abusive, or that she's a manipulative Lady Macbeth. It seems more like the combination of an addled, aging Depp and Heard, who is apparently not an easygoing person, was seriously toxic.
Both being actors, i.e. narcissistic luvvies, can't help.
As they've both got so much to lose, the court case has amplified things and turned it into a Thunderdome-esque battle to the death. Except with dog turds in the bed and coke boxes.

The recent bit I found amusing is Heard claiming Depp was insanely jealous of her doing a project with Clive Barker and that he thought she was going to shag him.

As it (almost) always happens with this kind of high profile celebrity cases, the best thing to come out of this is the memes   As for the case itself, I haven't been following it too closely (or at all) but, while Depp is by no means a saint, it seems like Heard is just throwing shit after shit around (sometimes literally!) just to see if something sticks, with little to no basis for most of her claims... Let's just hope the outcome is based on facts, either way. |
