Can't find the replacement space thread so I made one. We have a new moon, in case you hadn't heard (I only heard about it this morning). It's seemingly a lost portion of our moon which was ejected into space some unfathomable amount of time ago which has now been re-caught in our gravity for approximately another 300 years before it goes on it's way again. You can't see it with the naked eye or anything, it's only 41m across, which is on the outer edge of something which could become a meteor which will just burn up if it decided to get any closer. Anyway, cool. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/469219_Kamo%CA%BBoalewa

Quasi satellites are not "moons", though, because their orbit is not contained within the Hill sphere of their "parent body". But they can become so. Or not.

Psychotext It might be this one. Thought it had the old “Live Space Stuff” title, though.

There is a 'live Space notification' thread somewhere, but good to see the telescope is working so far.

Can you imagine if the final latch failed on it now? What a kicker.
