Static fire SN20, already started, firing in about 5 minutes
Another one starting now, had an abort about 15 mins ago, it looks like they're about to try agaqin.

I find it weird all the wanking done over Musk and Space X as pioneers of private space flight while Arianspace is over there going WTF

If Ariane was developing and testing a new rocket out in the open we’d watch that too. All we have of the ariane 6 is a concept drawing.

Aye, should be very little that can go wrong with those stages though. Unless someone fucked up the code somewhere...

Those cameras are far from solid state though, there's a bunch of movable mirrors and filter wheels.

I think it's probably a good decision that they've made not to release any of the calibration images. Could see general public saying "that's a bit shit then, what was the point?".

They'll probably bollox up the L2 burn and send it snapping tourist shots throughout the cosmos.

It's going so well isn't it. Surely most of the risk is gone. Can't wait for the first pics to come in.

So glad the first image came through okay, especially after the minor damage to one of the mirrors. Can't wait for even deeper views going even further back. I really hope this helps to fuel new breakthroughs in our understanding of what the hell we're all doing here (although that may be looking for reason where there is none) but it may at least shine some light on the origins of the universe.

I could spend hours zooming in on cool shit then slowly zooming out and being mind blown by the scale every time.

What's casusing all the gravitational (?) distortions around the centre of the image?
