I definitely can see how that happens, many people don't want to believe a friend could capable of such horrible crimes even with the number or victims who came forward. It doesn't inherently make you a horrible person for wanting to believe a friend especially a friend who had raped a notable amount of women over a period of time and is very clearly able to present a very different side to him as all manipulators do, but yeah it's definitely not a great look when you're very much on the public eye. Regardless glad the cunt got see justice given to him.

I don't know the details of his offences but my overly generous reading of those statements was that they thought he's been alright since he got clean, which I guess can sometimes be taken into consideration when sentencing. My guess is that isn't his narrative though, which is why he got 30.
