TBF he comes across as a bit of a difficult cunt. But also being late in a film production is disrespectful to so many people involved in making a film. People who would like to go home by a certain time or have other shit to do with their lives.

I think there's a big difference between a bloke being belligerent, aggressive, and unprofessional, and a woman dropping a c-bomb.
However, it does seem like a fractuous, tense affair all round, rather than Hardy being genuinely, violently abusive, which is what it seemed at first. Hardy owning up to it is good, I don't know if I could handle two different Mad Maxes being absolute unrepentent bell-ends.
Also I'd argue that at the time of the film's release Theron was a bigger star than Hardy.

So if I read that right, Theron called Hardy a cunt, he got a bit narked and asked her what she said (in an aggressive manner, as well he might having just been called a cunt), and off the back of that she decided that she didn't feel safe and wanted protection.
It's hardly a story is it. Oh no, the bad man shouted at me and now my feelings are hurt. Fuck right off.

It’s deeper than that one incident, that’s just the one that’s highlighted. It’s long been known that the Mad Max shoot was insanely difficult and hostile from both Miller and Hardy’s side.

If someone is turning up that late that regularly, to me it indicates a problem that might be a bit bigger than just "they're lazy". Which isn't to say that there's a good excuse for it, but it feels like there's a bit more to this story. |

Yeah I agree on the weirdness. I see where you're coming from on the 'maybe there was a reason' angle, because of all the stuff about it being a generally bad tempered production, and that it seems to have been the only incident that we know of in Hardy's career so far.
I do see in my mind's eye him storming over to Theron and trying to loom over her in that way that angry, slighted macho cunts do though, and it sticks in my craw.

Turning up to work on time is like the most basic mark of professionalism there is. And you could say "he's a bit of a lazy bastard" to someone that was, say, 30 minutes late. Maybe an hour.
But 3 hours is something else. At that point I'd be wondering if they're able to keep track of time. Or have some kind of substance abuse issue.
