At this stage it seems bizarre to me that he thinks settling out of court is a good look. Settling out of court always looks like an admission of guilt, doesn't it. I mean, it is isn't it? When has anyone settled out of court and not been guilty?

Literally all the time. I read a stat that 90+ of civil cases in the US are settled purely because its such a pain in the arse to defend them.
But, regardless, it was seemingly a choice between settling and looking guilty or taking it to court and looking super turbo guilty, so its the lesser of two evils. Plus the timescales would have it all kicking off during the jubilee hoopla and we cant have that.

Oh I get that. But so much damage has been done, them trying to weasel out of it by hiding behind the agreement between Guiffre and Epstein and it failing and making him look even more associated. It's just crazy that now they've settled, and not a lot earlier.

My understanding is that the royals, beyond queen and those certain to ascend the throne, are broke as fuck, relatively speaking. They have to hustle all the time to make enough money to support themselves. Hence Fergus selling jewels decades ago and royals generally shoring themselves out

I think 'skint is relative. They still live a life of unimaginable luxury and he still managed to have a 9m quid chalet to sell when he needed to.
By all accounts his problem was that he resented being small time in the grand scheme of things. He tried to live like a saudi prince on a british princes income which is why he was perpetually in hock to everyone.

Isn't a Prince's stipend like £250k a year for life? Supposedly, he has assets worth in the tens of millions, too. He'll be pretty comfortable, nonetheless.
