Urgh, I've just remembered, off the back of someone referencing it back on the EG forum, I accidentally saw more than I wanted to of 'two blokes, one hammer' (or some similar title, I can't remember. I don't want to remember...). Absolutely don't recommend googling it. I only did because I wanted to read about what actually happened (and not see the videos), but then ended up on a spoof Wiki type site which was embedded with animated GIFs of some of the godawful stuff. I need to know wtf this is. Tell, don't show. |

I'd hope that some the EG threads were recognised as deliberately so utterly absurd they were intended as comedy rather than purely nasty group misogyny or titillation.
There's plenty to be embarrassed about from the forum but it didn't make up the majority of content.
Though I am concerned now with the alarming idea that someone may have pleasured themselves to the Granny Bathing thread.

For all its silliness and slapstick, my absolute favourite Bottom joke is fairly subtle. It's when Richie is going to bed and trying to get to sleep. He says "hmmm...you know I could...no, not tonight" and it would fly over most kid's heads but it's just brilliant

Listened to Ade Edmonson on Desert Island Discs the other day (BBC Sounds), very moving listening to him speak about Rik Mayall. BTW the full (much longer) version is on the App but the online version is the condensed one so if one was to listen then use the App.

I always thought that Bottom worked far better as a TV show than a live production. Having to operate within the BBC's guidelines was actually to their benefit, whereas the stage shows were really lazy by comparison - after all, why bother writing actual stories and jokes when you can elicit uproarious laughter just by saying "fuck" over and over again?

It's not the worst thing about the whole sordid affair, but it irks me when people think it's orchestrated because it implies that Brand is somehow talking about some wild truth that could bring down the *woke establishment*, and not just spouting reheated conspiracy and alt-right bollocks.
