This is all giving me flashbacks to my uni days. My mate from college who joined me at the same uni fell in with the what I'd now call the predator group. He was telling me about how negging worked, and I saw him and the other guys work their way through my fellow students.
But also just how toxic so many of the other students were. I was doing drama and one of the most popular modules was stand up and it was pretty much an arms race of offensiveness, Joseph Fritzl, Madeleine McCann, racist shit you name it. By the end I was so glad I wasn't going to see a lot of my fellow students ever again.

Lots of WEX and freelance - music rags, local radio. As for the Giggs injunction, that was covered at uni when they held a special lecture as a "holy fuck this has happened"

Lord Sir Alan Sugar has expressed doubts about brand because the investigation was 'media driven' and, apparently, conducted as a journalistic investigation.
I swear to god, you knock that guy back down to zero and he tops out a used car garage.

I used to enjoy his comedy but as above its aged very very badly..you look at old clips of him now and you realise how horrible it really all was/is.
What's blown my mind is as kal has said above. How recent these society shifts really are.
Future generations will ask us "how did you not see it" just as we did about Saville.
Terrifying how these narcissistic predators can truly get away with it for so long.

conducted as a journalistic investigation. Don't worry, Lord Sir Poppet, the criminal investigation is coming now.

He was trying to claim non-dom status but, because he is such a patriot, still keep his seat in the house of lords.

I think the ageing poorly of the comedy is also part of the ageing well of the audience.
I think many (not all) youngsters and young adults celebrate edginess in a way that just naturally moderates with time. Not just edginess either - I thought The Boosh was the funniest thing ever (so random and irreverent and whimsical!) but now I think it’s sometimes a bit try hard and the memories of it are funnier than a rewatch.
Basically what I’m trying to say is maybe feel good about the fact you’ve evolved in comedy tastes and morals rather than feeling guilty for indulging in it at the time. It was what it was.
I for one always thought the bloke was a pretentious twat with truly shit hair, and never got on with him, but yeah I laughed at some cruel stuff back in the day that I would ooooft at now. I’ve even reached the age where I don’t really like explicit sex in films and TV and stuff because I think showing the act is largely gratuitous and unnecessary to plot. I find it a tad teenage and do wonder sometimes whether directors do it just to see some bewbs but sex sells doesn’t it.
