If it’s the Ghostbusters thing, the guy that was allegedly stalking Holly Willoughby looks to be a big fan. He had memorabilia in his house on the footage of his arrest He seemed more like a fantasist than anything but the report did say that he’s actually acted out on his weird fantasies before so probably deserved locking up
I thought you meant he looked like fucking Slimer.

Furiosa - 9/10
Loved it and maybe preferred it slightly to fury road. However the ending made me want to watch fury road again, so that’s getting watched again this week 😊

Furiosa 6/10 Seems like its a slightly Marmite/Vegemite film. I too noticed the CGI was a bit off throughout. Good action, but thought Fury Road was a lot better.

It was ok. Starts slow and boring, but then crazy stuff happens. I am a fan Eli Roth films like Cabin Fever, Hostel, Green Inferno and his new Thanksgiving was decent, but you could tell he didn't direct this. He did act in it though, and he was bad. We did watch it with a couple of friends who are not into gory films, so seeing them freak out at the smallest of injuries was at least amusing.
5.5/10

The Bikeriders - 6/10
Tom Hardy talks to Austin Butler is a silly voice, who stares back at him slack-jawed, seemingly unable to act.

Kickboxer
Do people have nostalgia for this one? I feel like Bloodsport has a better reputation on account of the kumite, though it is missing a scene with JCVD dancing.
Anyway. This really is quite, quite shit. Mostly not even in a fun way. The acting is poor even by JCVD standards, the story is rubbish, and the fighting mostly consists of people taking it in turns to get whaled upon.
4/10, it was going to be 3 but the dancing scene is hilarious.

Freaky 6.5/10
This should have been great, and just my thing, but it seemed like a bit of a missed opportunity.
The basic idea of mixing a Freaky Friday / Big style body-swap comedy with a horror movie is great. Kathryn Newton and Vince Vaughn are perfect for the roles. It has one decent death, and it did make me LOL at a few points, so it's certainly fun.
But I can't help but feel like they didn't really do much with the body-swap thing. They do the minimum, but it feels like there was so much potential for chaos with a psycho teen nerd at school, and they don't really lean into it. All her friends are on-side way too easily and quickly etc..
Not as good as Happy Death Day by the same director.

Is Kickboxer the one that's meant to be Trump's favourite film? And he gets his assistant to fast forward through the dialogue just to get to the fights?

It deserves an extra point for the "kick the tree" scene.

Reality - (on Prime) - 8/10
Word-for-word retelling of the FBI investigation into NSA worker Reality Winner (real name) based on audio recordings and transcripts. It's basically a chamber piece set almost entirely in and around her home, based on a previous theatre production. It's tense and quite anxiety-inducing basically being on the receiving end of an FBI shakedown. I'd forgotten all about the actual reality of the story before watching this, and I didn't expect it to end up where it did. 85 mins too, so bonus.

Civil War - Skull and Crossbones - Wow, that was great, but fuck me it chilled me to the bone. It is beautifully shot, written and acted, and fucking scary. I will buy a copy, because was that damn good. 10/10.

I tried watching the last movie in the "The Prophecy" series some days ago and I'd say number five is the only one not really worth watching.
Kari Wuhrer and John Light were in it again and some plot threads from the fourth movie are picked up as well. The main McGuffin in the fourth movie was a plot thread that was left hanging and TP5 tries to resolve it. It's not really the main problem with the movie, but I was struck by the thought that TP3 also tries to resolve the prophecy as a main plot thread and was also worse for it. But I watched parts of it again and TP3 is still mostly decent outside of that.
TP5 on the other hand was just terrible in some ways. It tries to keep to the established tone sometimes, but then you have the big bad (who is supposed to be yet another angel) mess up somebody's apartment like he was some random thug, sometimes cheesy horror elements or action sequences with generic music are used and there was one pretty terrible bit where one of the protagonists essentially lore dumps the other protagonist even though he shouldn't really know any of that. Much of the script is just pretty terrible.
I honestly skipped too much of it as that I should really be rating it, but I doubt it deserves more than a 3 or 4/10.

But Amazon Prime seems to have them fairly cheap if you only want to rent them. There is also a Blu-ray collection.

I agree that it might be the greatest TV show every made - but I can't for the life of me remember that scene, have no recollection of it at all It’s one of those ‘rich tapestry’ scenes. It has no real bearing on anything, just Michael Cera shows up, dressed as Marlon Brando and delivers a monologue about how cool it is to ride a motorbike across America.

Double bill for me today.
Longlegs - 7/10
Serial killer thriller starring Maika Monroe and a ludicrous supporting turn from Nic Cage. It has all the classic hallmarks: coded letters, flashlight cones illuminating dusty buildings, basements, maggots, etc. It reminded me of Se7en initially but gradually drifted into its own thing. The cinematography is great and it oozes atmosphere. But the third act is quite a tonal shift and it unravelled a bit for me. Bit of shame as I thought I was watching an insta-classic to begin with, but it's merely a good watch in the end.
MaXXXine - 5/10
Gah. I loved X and Pearl, and had equally high hopes for this, but it's a gutting disappointment. It's entirely watchable throughout but it spends wayyyy too long layering up various plot strands, pulling in lots of characters, and by the time it reaches a climax, it's a completely rushed mess. Without spoiling it, there are some REALLY bizarre, jarring moments where seemingly key characters suddenly just disappear. The finale set piece is soooo underwhelming as well.
It's all such a shame because there is a good film in here, it's just really badly scripted and edited. There is markedly more time given to Maxine as a character, which is fine, but the moments in between lack the punch and viciousness which defined the previous films. Kevin Bacon is really good in it, but the rest of the starry cast are just distractions because they have so little to do.

Jagged Edge - 6/10
Never heard of this before but guess I know why now. Surprisingly bog standard 80s whodunnit / court drama considering the cast.
Glenn Close is kinda dumb throughout and the whole court case is flimsy as anything, but the performances keep you in it.
Probably a 5/10 really but elevated a point by Jeff Bridges’ great hair and great jumpers.

I always quite liked that. Decent thriller imo.
Deadpool 2 - 7/10. Probably 4th or 5th time but the boy wanted to watch it ahead of vs Wolverine. It's a little try hard but some genuinely funny moments. I probably prefer the first but both good fun with lots of great meta lines. May be a bit passé but I'm a sucker for that
