I love the Ang Lee Hulk. We need another superhero movie like that, that isn’t afraid to take risks and wildly switch aesthetics. Like how it goes from balls out action to a stage play in the finale.

Also has one of the top ten teasers of all time

Yeah I liked Ang Lee’s Hulk too. Even more so, I loved the DVD extra footage of Lee in a mocap suit bouncing around smashing things.

Like this is awesome, right? I know the purple lighting skews it a bit Batman And Robin but its a very cool sequence

Couldn't stand it then and can't stand it now. I'm all for taking risks especially in the superhero genre but it missed the mark in so many ways for me.

They should No Way Home the three recent Hulks then have Lou Ferrigno be the one to save the day in the final act

Raimi wanted to do the Vulture for the third film, didn’t he? After the hospital scene in 2 I bet he could have had fun doing weird aging/de-aging stuff with the character. Yep, Raimi wanted to introduce Vulture in 2. I've read articles that suggested Raimi had started pre-production in Spider-Man 4 after being assured he'd have more control, and was planning to use Vulture in 4 instead, supposedly had cast John Malkovich in the role. But then the studio interfered after all and demanded Raimi use the Lizard instead, so Raimi just walked away.

I liked the aesthetic of Ang Lee's Hulk, but ultimately I found it kind of boring.

Surprised Stewart Lee isn't a friend, or a friend of a friend.

Closest I got was interviewing some girl in a band who did PR photography for comedians. It was a mad weekend dashing around London. Think I ended it chatting to Reverend and the Makers. Lovely chap.

I didn’t even know Lee had done a bit on it. It’s just, y’know, the actual line from the TV show.

I was talking to someone a couple of weeks ago who’d been a guest on RHLSTP. His appearance was after Lee & Herring stopped being friends/Richard’s cancer though so not a big Stewart connection.

Spider-Man 3 and robocop 2 both need reappraisals as they are much maligned and a lot better than we remember.
Also kind of on topic ive just rewatched hollowman and Kal was right it is very very rapey….

Nah, Spiderman 3 was appraised correctly. Too many villains syndrome, you don't see Spider-Man in costume for about 40-45 minutes, it's unclear as to who it's actually aimed at with its weird 'comedy' and the bizarre subplot about Mary Jane's theatre career and for a film set in NYC the cast seem to bump into each other so easily that coincidence essentially becomes part of the named cast. It's not great.

I like lots of Hulk, but I've always hated Eric Bana and the giant poodles were a step too far. Not even Jennifer Connolly was enough to overcome that.
Robocop 2 I never liked. Don't really remember why as, on paper, it's more of the same as Robocop 1. But it just wasn't half as much fun.

In defence of Robocop 2 (the movie) you should see the state of Frank Miller’s original treatment (Robocop 2 the comic)

I don't mind RoboCop 2 to a point, it doesn't hold a candle to the OG but 2 and 3 are light years apart in terms of quality drop.

Having only seen Robocop 2 for the first time in about 20 years.. there's no real defending it. It's a bad film, with some mildly entertaining stupid moments.
Also Hob is one of the most annoying children in any film.

Didn't they use that last bit as a 'no smoking in the cinema' announcement for years? That alone made Robocop 2 worth it I guess.

Written by Frank Miller and directed by Irvin Kershner should have been decent pedigree, in theory at least. Obviously development hell ruined what might have been quite interesting.

If I saw Robocop 2 in the cinema at the time, I think I'd been as annoyed as when I saw Prometheus.

Prometheus - that's another film that'll be looked on a lot more favourably as time goes on.
