Got it as well... My missus paid £50 for it apparently, which is why I hate ever putting games on a gift list. Could've easily got it for sub-£30!
Looking forward to getting stuck in today.

It's very good. Definitely it's worst aspect is combat but it's just fine though. Everything else is so well done.

Started and completed the first chapter last night and I fookin love it (Unlike my first hour with Deathloop, which I did not!) as everyone has said the script is great with Drax's lines being excellent, gunplay is fun and not to confusing instructing the team what to do (I'm playing on default skill). It is a bit jarring not having them look and sound like the films, but I soon got over that. Obviously very early in but certainly a great start and I am already looking forward to playing after work today, which is always a plus.

I'm stuck at the first fight where you have Rocket, Drax and Gamorra with you. I suck at action games, was hoping the rpg/action balance in this would be a bit more rpg-y than it seems to be.

If you aren't already aware you can really fine tune the difficulty settings. Everything from your damage output to shield levels etc. |

The other characters do WAY more damage than you do (apart from his focus fire ability thing). Use their abilities whenever they come off cool down.

Yeah, and it helps boost damage if you chain stuff together too. Anchor them with Groot first before you unleash the rest is something I used for most of the game (normal difficulty)

Oh and increase the damage in the settings for star lords guns so they hit harder

Just had the Squid boss battle at end of chapter 3...not my favourite part of the game. Very happy to have done it. I probably made it harder on myself by poor party management. Even with that said, totally a 10/10 experience so far, based off around 5 hours played. |

Just completed (on digital,series X) approx 20 hours and loved 99.9 % of it.unfortunately the game had crippling slow down from chapter 8 onwards, I have no idea why, up to that point it was buttery smooth and I didn't change any settings. It wasn't only heavy combat areas either. Luckily because the game and specifically the interaction between the characters is so bloody good and fun I managed to overlook, but it did obviously take away a bit from the experience.
As for the game, I would rank in the latest Spiderman and Batman AA category, it is that good 👍

On chapter 11, the dialogue and story is just wonderful. I've been grinning for a while now since a certain character has been introduced.

Playing this on GamePass and was delighted to realise I could pick up where I left off on my laptop on the Series X. Result!
Only an hour in, and already I’m a fan of the banter. Especially when I go off piste for collectibles!

I started playing it just before Eden Ring which has taken over my gaming.
Glad I ended up getting it on sale as I've enjoyed what I've played.
The banter during combat does get old(fine elsewhere) but it looks lovely and controls are pretty tight.
Only other grip is not being able to skip the team motivation bits unless I'm pressing the wrong button?
