I wouldn't bother trying to discuss it with him, he is going out of his way to be edgy. I don't expect anyone to like the game and respect Grem's opinion that he isn't loving it. However when you have a potato stating "facts" when he hasn't even played it, he can go fuck himself. Awwww diddums. Anyways I mean, that's absolutely not a fact. It's both an opinion and false. You can say it looks bad or boring and that's fair, that's your opinion. But you do have to "press buttons" to complete the flight sections. Of which there are only 3 or 4, by the way. But you need to control the Milano so it doesn't crash into a wall or debris and explode, and you need to aim and shoot at the enemies during the dogfight section. Now, what's a fact is that it isn't a flight sim. The flying sections are inspired by Star Fox, not Elite Dangerous, so they're on rails. But not touching the controls will make you fly into objects and die. Better info than the review I watched that said you don't have to touch anything during those bits. |

Really close to the end now, what a happy feeling game that I'm really enjoying and I got no interest in the comics and just seen the films.
I do think I'm having bad luck for the songs, the amount of times I've heard Wham is pretty funny, must be completely random and just shit luck.

It was weird for me in that it seemed as if the first time I played a section, I got a song that felt appropriate for the scene, but if I saved and came back the next day (or if I reloaded a checkpoint or something), it'd be a completely different song. So I couldn't tell if specific songs were canon to certain scenes or if they were in fact random.

Duffman5 just over 20 hours but I smoke outside so meh. Filled up my abilities and skills within the last few chapters pretty quick with the seeing loot skill.

Also it's worth turning star lords pistol damage up to high just so you get a bit more effwct from them.

I'm only about two hours in but I'm absolutely loving this so far. Yeah it's pretty basic but it's so much fun and they've captured most of what I love about the gaurdians of the galaxy.

Only at the start of chapter 4 but this is so much fun. Visually it's such a treat as well, definitely one of the best looking games I've played. I still think the combat is a little messy but when I love everything else about it so much I don't mind too much. Enjoying learning a lot more about the characters and universe as well as I've only seen the movies and not read any comics.

Decided to check out the recent ray-tracing update.
It's good. The metals look more believable now, with them casting off reflections. But not too clean reflections as is often the case in games with RT. It's still blurred and hazy, but you can see yourself and your movements being mimicked in the metals. Also, somehow they managed to keep the resolution high while also improving the framepacing, so while it's still 30fps, it feels less choppy than it did when choosing Quality mode at launch. I'm sure that's more of an engine optimisation than RT somehow being less intensive than non-RT. The lighting I feel could be more natural, but that might be a placebo effect caused by it being awhile since I've last played it. Lastly, the audio mixing has also been improved. The echo effect on Cosmo's VO used to make it difficult to understand him, but it's been tweaked and it's now much cleaner to the ear.
So all in all, it's in a great state, and if anyone has been on the fence about it before, the latest update and the current BF sales are good reasons to jump in now.

Not entirely but you think they should be making a 60fps not run at 1080p on a PS5.

It's not too bad. You would think PS5 and XSX could manage at least 1440p60, which is where a lot of the disappointment comes from, but the assets are high quality and the AA keeps the image from looking jaggy. It's definitely cleaner at 4K, but if fast framerate is what matters most to you, the 60fps mode is fine.

I think the 4k mode is pretty but it's crying out for some motion blur to help it out for smoothness.

Playing on the Xbox X version and it looks fine at 60fps.
If you do get it, make sure you set star lords weapons damage to high as it makes the enemies a lot less spongy.

Yeah I finished it yesterday and had a really good time with it. The combat in late game is far better than the start, I think in hindsight they were a bit slow to give you the abilities for the characters, I only got the last one right near the end.
Overall though it was a lovely surprise, Drax and Mantis were the highlights for me but I thought all of the guardians were great.
Starlords grown up child skin has the most mesmerising hair ever. Couldn't stop looking at it whilst he was talking

The only gripe so far is the 'huddle' idea shouldn't have made it into the game. Seems to take far too long and is just a bit weird.
