A public service announcement:
With the new Steam UI update, the overlays' browser window remembers the last tab you had open, and resumes it automatically the next time you launch the game.
So say for example, you had paused the game, opened the overlay and looked up a YouTube video along the lines of "How the hell do I possibly reach that shiny collectible I can see in the distance when I've tried 19 times to get there already and fallen to my death over and over", then resumed the game without closing the browser tab, the next time you launch the game you will be fucking deafened by the noise of an auto-playing YouTube ad that starts as soon as you see the intro movie or loading screen, and in at least one case as I just discovered, it won't let you open the overlay and stop the thing until the game loads to the main menu.

Jokes on you, since a couple of updates ago i keep getting React errors so my Steam Client web stuff is never stable for more than a few seconds. Lucky escape i suppose... unless they fixed it with today's client update. oh crap.

Have to admit the recent Center Parks ad is doing my nut in, solely because it clips a mostly-forgotten All Saints song (not even one of their better ones) in a way that's just imbedded it into my brain.
"I wouln't wanna be, anywhere else but heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere..."
As a side effect it's also inserted the earworm of The Beach into my head by way of association.

Yeah. And the smug look on some of those folk as they sing makes it even worse. I think what I hate about musicals the most is choreographed happiness and enthusiasm. Pair it with selling mundane things on the telly and it’s pure poison.
