I hardly watch live TV these days so don't really see adverts, but one that still annoys me is the 'what's a computer?' Apple one

Super emotional bank adverts where they try to make out they give a shit about you.
Any McDonalds advert.
That Kelloggs advert where the girl stops listening to her music to listen to her Rice Krispies.
I pretty much hate all adverts to be fair.

Hilarious trying to pretend a middle school child who lives in a terrace with a thirty year old car parked out front has a thousand dollar tablet that they get to take wherever they go.

I'd add any stinkfume advert, especially if they contain an actor. Joy of joys, it's now the season where they pop up three time per ad break

There are some absolute bastard ads on at the moment. The Cashback site on with the hummingbird seems to be on all the time and really gets on my tits.
Also the ad with the chunky lass with the brown jacket who does that little wiggle when she says “navigate change”. Not the worst ad but on so much it drives me mad.

Literally any advert on YouTube annoys the fuck out of me. Hate hate hate them. Especially frustrating since they bumped up the frequency to try and annoy you into paying for the "premium" monthly sub to remove them. I've had 3 forced ad breaks in a 10 minute video before.
"Try YouTube premium on us"
I'm honestly watching way less YouTube these days

I haven't watched proper television for over 15 years but I'm pretty sure you didn't used to get single adverts for like 3 minutes, jesus YT
Whenever I'm somewhere there's a TV and the adverts come on, they're always such sickly aspiration bollocks with families around the dinner table wetting themselves because they've got little peas or fish fingers

I adblock everything on desktop, but mainly watch YouTube on my (Android) phone. Will try that Vanced app out, cheers!

As long as you get the subscription for cheap. Use a VPN when singing up and if you select your country as India it's £1.20 a month and I think that's well worth it for YT Premium and YT Music. Anyway, I think I've got a good candidate for annoying adverts...

I use Brave and I never see adverts on YouTube, unless I forget and open the app.
And I mute TV ads, usually.

Hilarious trying to pretend a middle school child who lives in a terrace with a thirty year old car parked out front has a thousand dollar tablet that they get to take wherever they go. It speaks to the self-image of the sort of people who buy a 13 y/o a £1000 tablet. They seem themselves as living this frugal life, that isn't excessive and isn't advantaged over others. Sure they own their house (probably most of the mortgage paid off too) when most people can barely afford rent, but it's not a giant mansion (though probably bigger than the one in the advert) and neither of their cars are new, one is nearly five years old, that might as well be thirty to them. They're the same sort of risible arseholes who agree with articles that suggest a family making $400k a year isn't well-off, let alone wealthy, and see themselves as "normal people". I'm reminded of that dude who stood up last election at a debate and claimed to be in the "bottom 50% of earners" when he personally made £80k per year. Less extreme versions of that guy are who they're aiming at. Rich people don't like being seen as rich anymore. It's actually a really bad thing. At least when the rich were spending all their money on lavish parties, expensive cars, servants, gold-plated bullshit and so on they were putting it back in the economy but now they just buy property or hide it in the Bahamas whilst cosplaying at being middle class. We which is to say fuck this advert. I think tech in general has repulsive adverts. Every Apple, Google product or MS product or software advert I've seen in the last few years has made me actively want to avoid the company in question and lowered my opinion of them further.

Don't really watch adverts wherever possible. I don't ever watch live TV and will skip ads YouTube as soon as I possibly can (normally watch YouTube on TV, so adblockers aren't really an option). If there was an option to pay YouTube a couple of quid a month to get rid of ads I would certainly do it, but I'm not paying £12 a month or jumping through hoops to get it cheaper.
I am currently watching Taskmaster at the moment though, so have to put up with All 4 ads. Normally just stick my head in my phone when the ads start, but I did get a sense of ads becoming more grating in the way they promote lifestyles with the company at the centre of them. Thinking particularly of Facebook and Instagram adverts that come across as really insideous to me.

I haven't watched live tv for years and when we do we "record" it so we can go make a cuppa and get settled so we get a 10 minute buffer so we can forward through the ad breaks.
I use Adblock and Sponsor block everywhere so i don't see adverts at all unless i have to use someone elses browser when on a support call and holy fuck how do people deal with that shit? It also reminds me how annoying youtube is when i use it on my phone which always fire up the youtube advert app. I need to look into Youtube Vanced after hearing about it for years.
I do watch a LOT of youtube as Twitch adverts do my head in, Live TV has nothing i give a shit about and i'm only subscribed to Amazon Prime and Disney+ and tend to watch them for a week every few weeks so i have bunch of things to binge. I'm really tempted to get Youtube Premium purely because there's so much content there that i watch each night.
I also found that if i have to watch TV and i'm interrupted by adverts then i usually find i've missed half the programme as i was reading a book/magazine/comic whatever and didn't go back to the show after the adbreak finished.
Pretty soon we'll have adverts AND content split across a million subscription services with adverts because gimme money, that's why.

Thinking particularly of Facebook and Instagram adverts that come across as really insideous to me. Yeah All 4 is one the last places I still see ads and as ads get more and more about lifestyle and less and less about actual products or services they just get more and more gross. There's always been a bit of that but at this point it's just really extreme. Many ads give you literally zero reason to get the product or service beyond that lifestyle shite. Which tells you that the product has literally nothing to differentiate it from others, like it's not cheaper and doesn't work better or isn't a great new taste or anything, it just implied to make you part of some grim "way of life" or whatever. Personally I find twee adverts involving shite sub-Aardman claymation (or more like fake claymation that's actually CGI) just incredibly sickening myself, with ones with shitty watercolour-style animation of cutesy people or worse, anthropomorphic animals also pretty vomit-worthy. I kind of wonder, who, if anyone, is eating this stuff up? Like, I worked in advertising for a year as an intern (horrifying, like low-rent Mad Men meets the British The Office and Nathan Barley but somehow even more gross), and so I know how these guys think, but these ads just have to be testing worse and worse if thirty and forty something middle class males are rejecting them even when clearly in the target market. I guess these are just the ones that test least badly? I know clients who had literally no real selling points for their product or service over competitors were both the trickiest to deal with but also very profitable.

Log in to your YouTube account, sign up to Premium and pay using a bank account which can do international payments (I use Monzo for this), sign out of VPN and then just use YouTube as normal. I mostly use YouTube on my TVs so it's well worth the £1.20 a month to me

Buu - yeah, I use the Shield TV primarily and it's a bit of a pain in the Swiss to find something like Vance that's been designed with the TV UI in mind. Think I'll just do the India VPN trick. If Google did One, YouTube and music in one subscription for a tenner I'd have no qualms about signing up, but fuck paying that just to remove ads!

If that's about the YT Premium work around it's not really a pain in the rear and saves a decent chunk of money. £14.40 for the year vs £143 for the year.

Anything online, in particular on youtube. I can handle adverts on tv because they're more professionally made, but youtube ads where they just start yelling at you about cryptocurrency or dentistry drive me up a wall.

Just Eat.
The lady jumping-cutting into costumes as the deliberately robotic/off kilter voice over tries really hard to make the ads stand out. Which has totally worked because I am fatigued by them. Attrition.

I remember an advert for Volvic where a waiter came out on his lunch break for a "cheeky Volvic"
It's bottled water. I can't think of anything less cheeky that a drink of water (unless you work for Amazon)
