Does anyone actually know the original lyrics to that we buy any car tune? Because I know the song but sure as hell couldn’t tell you what the devil he was singing in it. Nope. Still indecipherable. Best stab: “Who likes that lemur? That lemur is good.”

I mean, the lemur *is* good so it makes sense.
In all honesty I had no idea that advert was based on some sort of viral video. And the guy as a million followers or something.
I'm out of touch and frankly I hope it stays that way.

Adverts to mine some weird veins. Like moneysupermarket cribbing 'youre so money' from swingers or Bosch taking 'Like a Bosch' from this

Any life insurance advert where after being offered £100, 000 worth of cover they say it will cover the mortgage. Surely that is arbitrary based on how much you still owe at the time? It cannot be true in all cases. I'm 32 and a non-smoker - which coincidentally is the point in your life where you are the least risk to insurance companies. That will be £6 a month please Mr Saul.
Fast forward a decade or two, when the regular premium increases have kicked in, and you're wondering why you're shelling out so much for life insurance when there are cheaper forms available. So you bin the policy. Thanks for all the money Mr Saul, we owe you nothing.

As you age up your risk grows but your mortgage (should) go down and I suspect that is probably an average of all their payouts.
Obviously, that figure will be toast within a few years.

I think TV adverts peaked with the "Woodpecker... What A Refreshing Change" series in the early 90s, and everything since has simply been a failure to rise to that level.

I feel sorry for people today, not getting to see genius like the Carling Black Label ‘Cowboy’ ad.

One advert I do hate is the one for that dog food - Butternut Box
I hate the name, I hate the voiceover, I hate the concept, I just hate it
It says something like “Now we know better we can feed dogs better. Dogs want real food like we eat”
Dogs do not want what I eat I can fucking assure you - a Tesco meal deal comprising of an egg and bacon sandwich, a bag of pickled onion Monster Munch* and a 500ml Cherry Coke* is no good for any dog
(*Although I have been off crisps and Coke since November)

I remember reading an article a long time back that the strict rules the UK had on advertising things like alcohol meant that we ended up with a lot of really creative adverts. All the beer adverts here are basically: group of people eats food, drinks beer, goes 'Aaaaahhh!!'

Has anyone mentioned that Paddy Power coffee shop one?
“What’s your name?” “Oh, I’m sorry I already have a girlfriend.” “No, it’s for the coffee.”
That one. SOOOO fucking progressive.

Top War ads on YouTube... "Today I'm exposing fake games and I'm really playing this one" *provides commentary on the exact same footage they use in other ads*
It'd be OK if it was footage of someone playing the game sensibly. I've never played it but can tell they're doing if wrong FFS.
I should really have a look at the vanced fork...

Inspired by Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, I had to share these spectacular ads from an American plumbing company...

Tena for men. Every single fucking advert break on Amazon free with ads.
I am roughly approaching their target age, but dry so far. It feels like they are willing me to incontinence.
Also annoyingly, if I ever do need such a product I'll probably get them. They look quite comfortable and I've never heard of any others.

Maltesers companion ad. Doesn't annoy me, I love it. The creepy old guys smile never fails to make me smirk.

I want a variant of that add shot where his Mum is actually fucking livid with her son’s bullshit and says “He calls him that because he can’t stand the thought of us FUCKING!!!!!” The rest of the ad can do unchanged.

That Melissa McCarthy ad only serves to confirm everything she does is either excellent (Spy, Bridesmaids, Can You Ever Forgive Me) or absolute gash (literally everything else she’s ever touched).

My all-time favorite commercial series has to be the Jack In the Box Ultimate Cheeseburger series.
