No. Christmas cake and Christmas pudding are different things. This. I love both Christmas cake and Christmas pudding, but they’re very different. Christmas cake, wedding cake and fruit cake are all the same though. Proper dense fruit cake with marzipan and icing is the best. I hate 98% of sponge based cakes, find them too dry, dislike most chocolate cakes. A moist kirsch-soaked black forest gateau though. Oh baby. |

I am chocolate cake man thru and thru.
But my wife makes killer bourbon cupcakes. Basic vanilla sponge with a bit of bourbon. But the icing on them is just a mixture of bourbon and sugar. They are awesome.
