My family's chocolate cake recipe is better than all cakes except the odd one from really specialist bakeries (not that I will reject other cakes). It's definitely under "rich chocolate cake" and is sufficiently rich that more than one slice can be nearly fatal. Very much more flat and more dense than most cakes, intense chocolate flavour and just not quite like anything else. Unfortunately/fortunately it seems to get made by one of us like once a year.

Not a huge fan of cake personally. Unless we're counting cheesecake, but even that is a little sickly for me these days.
