Nothing has been the same since they stopped making Boasters.

I used to know an anarchist who refused to eat Bourbon biscuits as they were named after the former French royal House of Bourbon.

I like a rich tea, but wouldn't necessarily want to eat them for eternity.

Think I should have put "other" after just demolishing a pack of Maryland cookies.

It's complicated because you would always say chocolate biscuits are better than plain but then at the point you make the decision, if you commit to whatever the fuck doused in chocolate, you might as well buy a regular chocolate bar imo.

I miss Dundee Biscuits Also, I love those Lemon Puff thingies and proper shortbread, which I make. And Chocolate Crunch, which we used to have at school. I guessed the recipe years ago: you substitute some of the flour with cocoa powder.

I can't have biscuits in the house cos I just eat the whole pack, if they're on offer at work I have to walk by otherwise my colleagues will see me eat the entire tray like rabid dog!
One biscuit is safe around me though, Maryland cookies!! They taste like sweetener and plasterboard - I'd rather eat a ryvita.
Can anyone simply eat one biscuit?

Your post made me réalisé that this poll is missing cookies, wtf dude? It's like one of the big four. Nobs, gestos, creams and cookies

Maybe the thing I miss most from the UK is biscuits.
The ones here are fine (if you ignore the 3 tons of packaging for 6 tiny biscuits), but they aren't proper ones. Import food stores have the posh ones, but nowhere has the everyday ones like Custard Creams, etc...
I was ecstatic when a Tesco opened down the road, and then distraught when they abandoned Japan 2 years later. *cries*

If you could do a bulk buy of different things then you could use somewhere like www.britsuperstore.com/ maybe there are others closer with better shipping costs.

Yeah, I've looked at places like that before, but balked at the shipping costs. I guess I could just buy a year's supply at once. On the plus side, I lost a ton of weight after leaving the UK.
I also noticed the last time that I was back in the UK that I couldn't even eat a lot of my previous fave cakes etc.. because they were insanely sweet.
Imho Japanese bakeries are generally pretty poor... but I guess if the only thing to compare them to is Greggs then they kinda win by default Except that they keep putting fucking mayonnaise on the pizza. That's a crime that deserves to burn in hell.

Can anyone simply eat one biscuit? No. And further I reject assertions that such a feat is possible. Particularly bad with chocolate digestives (dark, the proper kind, milk is way too sweet for me), which I love but can't really have in the house because I'll just contrive an excuse to either take the entire package out of the cupboard and put it near me, or like, take 4-5 biscuits at a time if I manage to keep it in the cupboard, and either way, the entire thing will be gone within hours, when if I could avoid that it could easily last days. Maybe the thing I miss most from the UK is biscuits. One thing that was nice when I lived in the US, was, despite living in the Midwest (Indiana, albeit not that far from Chicago, like a couple of hours on the world's slowest train - the South Shore), was that most of the local gigantic grocery stores had a "British Section", which totally blew me away - there are a lot of colleges around there but I think I only once or twice overheard another British accent. Anyway point is that section was always pure British safety food - digestives and other biscuits listed here, jaffa cakes, cheap tea (Typhoo or Yorkshire or w/e), Marmite, and so on. It wasn't a very large section, usually like one set of shelves, but hey. I assume the primary audience for the section is American Anglophiles.

Japan has shot right up my "countries that get launched into the sun like a frisbee once I am Emperor" league after reading that. Just outside the top 5.
