1.4 million on the leaderboard already. Taking into account part of the world has seen its official release, I wonder just how many people stumped up the cash for early release (myself included) Weirdly I never quite got the series before now and despite playing them all! Seeing it as a confusing mess rather than something to just play at your own pace. Literally just spent hours on rivals mode on one track, never even tried the rivals mode before. I think there was over a million on Sunday night, so even if thats mainly gamepass people thinking what the hell, I'll go for it that's a lot of cash. I deffo think it's going to be the way it's going. A big release will have early access if you buy the digital deluxe version with a gamepass upgrade route. An easy way to encourage people to buy dlc they would not normally go for and also lock you into staying on gamepass as you are invested in it. |

I love the northern bit of the map. Reminds me a lot of the first (and best) game.
The map overall is great. Lot of diversity to it.

I don't actually mind them doing this to some degree, I can even justify it myself with just how much of a bargain Game Pass is in the case of Forza. Whether I'd feel like doing the the same with the likes of Battlefield or other full fat purchase, I'm not so sure. |

I love the extra visual flourish, and performance mode does quite flat in comparison, but 60fps feels so much better to play. Guess I'll stick to it. |

There's a board under one of the bridges on the big stretch of motorway that I took one look at and decided to give up on ever reaching 100% of the boards smashed. That's probably my main gripe with the game at the moment. Some of them are close to danger signs and kind of fun figuring out how to get to them. Others are in utterly horrible positions next to a tiny hill that you need to hit at a very specific speed and angle. There were only one or two of them like that in FH3 IIRC, but they seem to just keep adding more in each game. I know that board and it’s actually less painful than you’d think! I used the Ford Hoonicorn Mustang for most of the ones I’ve done so far, it accelerates quickly off road. That one you need to start sort of parallel to the motorway on the same side as the board. Picked that one up last night along with the two at the hotel, it was easier than it looks. Use the tree as your marker for the run up and you almost want to brush it on the way past. Once you've done that and got yourself in the general vicinity of the target, just keep hitting rewind and make small adjustments until you hit it. It should take less than 5 minutes. Also, watch what other cars are doing when you're near a board, I got the one off the hotel roof after seeing someone fly over my head while I was driving around which told me where the jump was. |

After some extensive listening I've decided that XS is definitely not up to to the standards of 4. There are a couple of ok tunes, but nothing that has had me reaching for my phone to see what else they've done.

First FH I've played, has the use of your actual real name to talk to you in voice over always been a thing? At 1am this morning that was fucking creepy. First time i thought i was hearing things or a coicidence then it happened again.
I hope i can go into the game options and change it. To Karen or something.

All the fast travel boards have been collected, I can now fast travel for free to any point on the map which is making getting to the roads I've not yet travelled a lot quicker.

All the nicknames are preset and some are double barreled. Once you unlock a house you can change your avatar and name. Mine defaulted to my full name on my MS account whereas I prefer the shortened version. So I went in and changed it. |

Genuinely find it hard to fault a game that so earnestly wants you to have a good time. It's incredibly generous with content and with your time.

Dave_McCoy I wondered what was going on. I didn't notice any double barrelled names when i chose mine and yeah, i have the house but i think i've made the best i can when i went back through the options and didn't change anything aside from their clothes. I just wondered of anything changes if you join your Steam account to the XBL account like it nags me to everytime i start the game?

I'm finding the map a bit annoying, there are small rock formations everywhere and I've got stuck into the geometry a few times (sure it was kinda my fault for trying to climb hills, but this never happened in the previous games).
Aside from that, there's the usual issue that persists since FH3: the map is empty until you start unlocking events all around. I may be the only one, but I liked the FH1 style better, where the whole place was already full of stuff to do from the beginning, and the events were something you could do whenever you wanted, rather than gatekeeping your exploration.

Can't please everyone, I guess. A game gets pushed out to the world and we are all so different and prefer certain things be done in a certain way. Personally speaking, I am more than content to play the game the developers have it structured. I think that in a relatively short amount of time you will go from having a tiny amount of events on the map to a humungous amount of things to do. I would say that after about 2 hours of playtime, your wish will be granted.

It’s annoying they’ve turned the dudebro up to 11, and even added in some dudechicks too but, yep, it’s fantastic and I agree- the handling model feels tweaked and better.
I hoovered my little heart out in 4 and can’t yet decide whether I’m thrilled or slightly miffed I’ve got to start again 😛
