I couldn't decide whether to start a new thread or piggy back the Premier League one.
Anyway, there's a good turn out for the Manchester derby.

Looks like a good one.
Doesn’t fill me with confidence for my women’s team (Durham) having a real group of death in the Continental Cup. United the next game with Everton, Leicester and City to come.

Sunderland beaten 2-0 by Durham today
Real sad what Elis Short did to that team. They were *the* women’s side in the region, a genuine presence nationally, a top flight side and a star factory with half of England’s best known players getting their start there. Then they were kicked out of their training facilities, lost their home ground and ended up having to go from almost fully professional to totally amateur and releasing all their best players. Crashing from the Super League down into the regional divisions in a single move.
Meanwhile the men’s team were shielding Adam Johnson and paying Jack Rodwell a fortune to sit on his arse playing xbox by himself.

Surprisingly nervy start to the Euros from England last night.
Felt a bit like they wanted to play a fairly contained game but the occasion affected them all - and the manager - a bit into some iffy game management choices. The better side by miles but there was the opportunity to catch them on the break.
Fingers crossed for Northern Ireland tonight but Norway beat them 6-0 last time out and if anything are meant to be better now.

Always good to get a win in the first game and that should hopefully relax them.
They have been excellent in the friendly games I've watched.

Really happy to see Beth Mead get the goal - local to up here and a sign that they won’t be as reliant on Ellen White as in the past

It’s a shame the gap between the professional and semi/amateur nations is so crushing at the moment. Hopefully in a few more tournaments time we’ll not see so many batterings in the early rounds.
The good teams are looking very sharp though. England Norway should be a real test.

Who would have thought people would turn up to watch England when the match isn’t at Wembley. We live in crazy times.

Thought Norway were supposed to be good. They are. I’ve seen them a couple of times. Should be on par with England

This is fucking brutal, really. Don't quite think we're at Germany v Brazil but yeah... expected more from Norway.
A lot more.

I thought France were fantastic against a team with no defence last night but England have outdone them.

Excellent from England tonight, they were a bit wasteful against Austria and even tonight the could have possibly got a few more given how well they were playing but 8-0 is pretty incredible.

They’ve been one of the better sides for awhile now but under Wiegman they seem a lot more complete.

Guy's an absolute national treasure, fucking love the guy.
I still go to pieces when the video of him meeting his old schoolteacher pops up in my related videos on YT.

It's obviously a bit Arsenal-centric but the Rocky and Wrighty documentary that BT Sport did is well worth a watch to get you in the feels (may have been where that clip.is from, come to think of it)
