Yeah that makes no sense. Might as well have had a whack for a couple of balls.

Alternatively, Bazball knew exactly what they were doing....putting them in under the lights for an hour or so!

What are we going to do when Jimmy and Broady can't turn their arm over anymore? Amazing stuff with the bat too.

Was one of those Broady spells where he's just on fire. Glad I got up early to watch!

Season 2 of The Test is out. Couple of episodes in: Marnus is a character; Pat, Gary, and Usman seem alright; Scott Bolan’s story is uplifting; can’t believe Warner and Smith were allowed back in, but Bancroft hasn’t featured since 2019.

Huh. I went to bed when it was 21-3.
I wake up and it’s 315… for 3.

And it turns out all Joe Root needed to do to work out his place in the team was just be Joe Root. Top work all round!

The weirdest thing about Warner was that, up until very recently, he kept asking to be considered for leadership roles. I can understand letting them back in the team - maybe they shouldn't have their entire careers killed because of one terrible thing - but there's a fair distance between that and wanting to be team captain.

The beauty of tests in SA is that the timing works out well to watch here in the UK, I remember having that test on in the background whilst I worked and seeing it unfold live. Seeing the first shots of Bancroft pulling that bit of sandpaper out from his pants was one of the biggest WTF?? moments I've ever had watching sport, absolutely amazing stuff!

It is quite possibly one of the dumbest moments in the history of Australian sport. Three people throwing their reputations down the toilet, for no real reason.

His scoring wheel is ridiculous... all round the park, it's basically impossible to ball to him at times! Flat batting Wagner back past him got a big howl of approval this end

Such an interesting approach to it all. England are trying to control the narrative in every match. It must be such a great dressing room to be part of.

England are the team to beat IMO.
We (NZ) look awful, really need some big changes, Australia and India are good teams but not amazing, if Babar Azam is removed the Pakistan team is bang average. Haven't seen enough of SA or the Windies but the results don't suggest they're much of a threat.
The pitches in India will probably cause havoc with the results at the world cup but overall England have the best team in the world right now in ODI and Test.

I hate the follow-on, always feels to me like you're giving the opposition a chance to put the pressure back on, especially when your lead was only a smidgen over 200 like ours was. In "Bazball" it makes even less sense, one of the benefits of the follow-on before was that it gave you time to bowl the opposition out again and not having to worry about when to declare in your second innings, but it's not like that's a problem anymore. If we had just batted again we could currently have a lead of 400+ with 2 days left to bowl them out (that feels much more like the current aggressive Engand way of doing it), worse case scenario we could have fucked our second innings but still had a lead of 350 which you'd think is still plenty. As it is we could easily be looking at one of those silly 150+ run chases, lose 3 or 4 and anything can happen.

Yep. Was an odd decision. Maybe the wicket is getting flatter or something?
