I like Louise Sugden, Peachy Tips and Arbiter Ian. Or Codex Compliant. None of them really do competitive or just breaking news though.

Imo:
Luetin is good for lore deepdives. Baldermort is decent too.
Goobertown Hobbies, Midwinter Minis and Danahowl for comfy hobby content
Auspex is the best for news, he has a vid out almost before the announcements, he's extremely well connected/informed. I often do what you suggest and just read the slides without really listening, makes a vid about 80% shorter

I like: I really liked Peachy when he was part of that channel he started. They all fell out though I think, and I don’t think the other two knew what side their bread was buttered on at all! I’ve found his newer channel a bit mid but I think he’s still developing and it’s mostly ‘how to speed paint marines’ when I last checked. If he got back to that long-form interview format, that’d be great. Would love to have a pint with him. Or a tea I guess. Sugden again seems like a genuine nice person and has a very distinct painting style. It’s not something I generally want to replicate but it is very nice. I’ve made my feelings clear on Auspex. I think he’s a gem. Luetin09, Danno was *pivotal* in me getting back into the hobby. I am working through the ‘40K in order’ playlist - slowly. I think he’s a phenomenal narrator, and it’s all perfectly synced with fantastic music and art work. Really some quite stunning work, although he is rambling and I can’t count the times I’ve actually fallen to sleep to it, because his stuff really is hypnotically relaxing. I wish sometimes I could have this as a pod cast because it could really suit it and I find it easy to lose track in the YT format. There are rumours he has been a bit reactionary when discussing Marvel and Star Wars and stuff. I haven’t watched it. But I’m half expecting him to warp into Nigel Farage or something when I get through enough videos. I also can tell from the reading I’ve done on that subject that many commentators have not watched the reportedly offending video. He’s probably just afraid of having girl marines. Duncan Rhodes is an eternal gem. I really like Table Top Ready for painting, in fact it’s not unfair to say he revolutionised my painting (it’s nothing unorthodox, he literally tought me glazing and two stage highlights). Warhipster is good but is 95 per cent Contrast. And Striking Scorpion taught me to do Tyranid flesh. I think Trovarion is great but he’s very much in the YT trap of extended length for the sake of it, thumb nail clickbait style. Games - Tabletop Tactics, Tabletop Tactics, Tabletop Tactics. All of them are entertaining, the models and scenery are beautiful, the music sounds like Doom. They also play Old World and possibly Sigmar. They can be a bit of a twee/zany combo - I have to be in the mood. Good for a Saturday morning when no other fucker will wake up - I’ll go in the spare room, watch this on my Xbox and have a coffee/vape/battle rep combo. I will look into some of everybody’s recommendations when I get chance thanks!

Luetin does have that feel. It's weird as hell, there's not really anything I can point to, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was trying to depose Farage tomorrow.

The Warhammer lore isn't really part of my hobby so I can't add much to that, but general hobby YouTube stuff that I enjoy painting to include, in no particular order:
Guerilla Miniature Games - Ash Barker is great, check out his Grimdark Media series if his reviews and battle reports aren't your thing. Tabletop Minions - Uncle Atom is so relaxing to listen to. Sonic Sledgehammer - practical painting, nothing fancy, wide variety of minis and genres, found it very useful when I was doing a lot of WW2 stuff but he's painted loads of 40K and AoS stuff if that's your bag. Me, Myself and Die! = Voice actor Trevor Devall plays solo RPGs - currently on season 4 of his game, it's superb fun even if you're only mildly interested in RPGs. OnTabletop - formerly Beasts of War, their Weekender show has loads of news and deep dives into smaller miniature companies and ranges. Juggz the Podcast - only just started watching this recently and it's fun so far, very GW focused which is not surprising given their backgrounds but they do talk about other games, as well as a whole load of weird and amusing shite. World of Wargaming - Big beardy American talks about skirmish games and does battle reports in an interesting and friendly way.
I watch a lot of other more historical gaming-related stuff as well, but the above has got me through hundreds of miniatures.

Arbitor Ian is solid for lore - I find him much easier to listen to than Luetin and more concise. You can tell he's a professional video editor as his videos are well made.
Striking Scorpion is one of the first guys I watched regularly. He is good but recently started chasing the YT bucks and created paid for channels that he put a lot of his content behind. Nothing wrong with that but just means that I watch less of his content overall.
I will shamefully admit that I did used to watch Valrak before he got popular and started swearing and shouting excessively is his videos. He also started revelling in drama and his relationship with GW which put me off.
If people are looking for really quirky takes on the lore, try 40k theories. I watched a few of his videos but found them more on the boring side.
Marco Frisoni for painting. If only because he paints amazingly well but does it in a very casual way. Almost like it is really easy for him to achieve that level.

Guerilla Miniature Games - Ash Barker is great, check out his Grimdark Media series if his reviews and battle reports aren't your thing. I don’t watch much WH stuff on YouTube, as most of it just seems to be clickbaity, big red text, THEY’VE RUINED EVERYTHING AGAIN stuff or lore stuff that just completely misses the point. However, Ash is an oasis amidst the shite. Knows his stuff, spends time covering smaller and indie games as well as the GW stuff and generally just seems like a total dude. My waking nightmare is that his undercut creeps too far one day and reveals a hidden swastika or something and my world comes crashing down.

The thing with people moving to Patreon and On Demand I think is that it’s become quite difficult to make money on YouTube. I don’t necessarily think it’s a sell-out thing, it’s a necessary evil/diversification.
There are several people I’d love to chuck money at but looking at my numerous direct debits for subscriptions and all sorts it’s very hard to justify sadly. Crowd funding is a strange concept really but I get it.

Actually, yeah that Arbitor Ian channel is pretty good too. Good videos, catchy theme tune and at least he seems to “get” it.
Tried that Lutein guy a few times a while back and did come away just thinking he was probably a wrong ‘un.

Oh and a special mention to Jordan Sorcery - he covers the history of GW and their products, as well as Lore and hobby stuff. But his interviews are great, and he has spoken to just about every important designer, writer, sculptor and artist in GW's history.

He's one of the good guys and he doesn't get involved in any nonsense at all. You can also tell he's a good 'un from the company he keeps - his roster of guests / players / co-presenters are all good people too. Especially Jay.

WIP (the Redemptor). Think I’m done with the body now, the weapons are really complicated though! To get those done and fully over the line I’m hoping for Saturday. There are SO MANY edges and bits to highlight on these. The weapons options so far work fine as push/friction fit so it’ll have both the plasma and rotary options, as well as the mini Gatling and the flamer on the wrist. I’ve glued the storm bolters though as aesthetically the grenades don’t do it for me on the dread, plus moar dakka. I had planned to display with the ‘open casket’ look as shown, but sadly something went wrong with the lower lid and it had to be glued in place. So with the top visor down it looks like it has some sort of awkward dozy grin.

Those jump pack scions were leaked on Reddit yesterday, unless they were fake. Seems really daft they aren’t in the Imperial Agents list!

I am a bit nonplussed right now. I ordered two of those Imperium Magazines from an eBay seller. They have sent me a large box which included: • The two items I actually ordered • A third magazine from the Age Of Sigmar range, which included two Technical Paints that I didn't already have, which is nice... • Two recent issues of Empire magazine, one with a holographic cover • A full size graphic novel of Deadpool VS Wolverine, worth £10 • Two Baileys truffles • A small vegan chocolate caramel • And a free sample of a Dentalife stick for dogs

I’ll give you 20 quid for the dog treats. No questions asked.

DM me your details.
Or buy something from this ebay seller, you'll likely end up being sent what you requested, and perhaps many additional items. And perhaps even a dog.

Cheers!
So far from cheapo Imperium eBay sales, I got another set of 3 Outriders, the Firestrike servo turret, a set of five marines from a Vanguard task force, and an ATV.
I don't actually need the servo turret itself, but the Techmarine who crews it and some other bits from it are going on the ATV, which I'm converting to be a Techmarine vehicle.
Other, seperate eBay bits that have turned up this week included a Ravenwing apothecary bike, a whole lot of Beaky helmets, some extremely ornate looking chainswords, some assorted Primaris heads, a few odd bits from the Raven Guard upgrade pack, some Mk6 heavy plasma guns, one of the swords from the new Dark Angels inner circle champions, various equipment pouches, and a set of headlights from a Rhino.

I did follow your tip Mike but I couldn’t find the bargains. I spotted loads of Calgar and a couple of Guilliman models for what I thought was a reasonable price but they ultimately were only a quid or so cheaper than FLGS prices. Some of these are also in bidding wars so that’s gonna possibly drive the prices. Then I spotted a Sisters one which had various models including a Penitent Engine for 15 quid, still tempted by that just to get a second Engine but I’d need to know if it can be built differently to the one I have, will have a look - and also need to know if I can get one on its own for cheaper. I did get fairly excited by the scenery bundle from that seller but I’m not sure exactly what set/sets it is and what value is there. Then lastly, I liked the idea of the marine vanguard one that had the Eliminators and Suppressors but it looks like the second half of the set isn’t available! Power to you if you like the browse but it felt a bit like shopping at a market record stall or a TK Maxx where you just have to go through everything! Congrats on your haul though and I reckon you’re the type to enjoy the sift and search! In PSA news and returning to good YouTube stuff, this gent seems to be affable with some very useful painting content, just found him this morning: youtube.com/@juanhidalgominiatures?si=Dsxtdl2KPtttalRn

So Mr Hidalgo had these in one of his videos: amzn.eu/d/9kKAzvfLooks like a potentially cheap alternative to the Artis Opus Series D. I may pick some of these up. Think it’s also time to refresh my smaller Series S - they’ve just started to lose it - which is a combo I think of what Metallica seem to naturally do to them plus me probably being impatient with painting and not cleaning them fast enough. I’ll never use another brand for detail work now though. Edit - autospell error - obviously the seminal metal band had nothing to do with anything and I meant ‘metallics’

Well I don't think Metallica would take good care of brushes either, they probably drink the paint water too.
I must admit I don't use anything but synthetic brushes but they can last a few months before being retired to join the ranks of priming brushes, dry brushing brushes, varnishing brushes or just prior to being binned, pva spreading brushes.

Managed to snag the ‘fortified manor of the empire’ this morning while sat by the pool on holiday. Then in a panic added the imperial agents combat patrol to get it over the free shipping. Even though the combat patrol would have been enough by itself. Should have just bought some hills or a brush! Sure I can find a use for some Arbites.
Those linked drybrushes look good. Gonna get a set when I get home.
