A dark mode can be achieved in many ways and doesn't require any action other than your own. The shoutbox on the other hand, if disabled, is just gone for everyone. GONE FOREVER! THE BEST CONTENT! THE MAIN AND SOMETIMES ONLY REASON TO EVEN COME HERE! THE SINGLE SOURCE OF LIGHT IN THESE DARK TIMES!

"dark mode safari"
The result should be a number of different apps achieving the very thing you are looking for, some free, some paid.
But what do I know, right? I'm just a PC nerd. This whole mobile universe is very alien to me. Maybe the correct way to approach the problem is indeed to post in a very niche gaming forum multiple times that you want this. Some bald, bearded fairy might come along and just fulfill your wish.

Ok, I've looked up premade proboards themes, and if an admin of this forum here is logged in and goes to this link: www.proboards.com/library/themes/item/3837 he can install a dark theme and every user can then select in their profile settings whether they want this dark theme or the default one. |

I use firefox on android and it has an addon called "dark reader", which is what I use sometimes. It works mostly fine.
