am enjoying it, but cant decide on a playstyle & build I like, need somewhere between 'brainless' and 'far to many buttons to click'.
The crucible thing I've sort of put to one side for now, seems more effort than it's worth while leveling.

It works best with jewelry at first as they don't have sockets but also side project items instead of main levelling pieces. I have 2 similar chest armours but with different socket numbers and I'm running the second one through the krangler to see what I can get on it.
Some of the upgrades you can unlock are good, like have multiple items to krangle at the same time. I'm running any old shit through it at the moment to get to the option for adding a link to the largest linked socket group.

Act 10 done, happy with the speed considering I'm still new at this. I stacked resists this time so I'm fully capped going into the Atlas, yet still squishy somehow. I've eye up some more life and dodge related things on the tree to try and help me out.
I've done all 4 T1 maps and just discovered horticrafting!? Gonna have to read up on that cos I don't have a clue on first glance.
Just need to grind out some currency now. Not had a single exalt drop 0_o

It's not unusual that you don't drop an exalt until late into mapping.

RNG is RNG but I think that last league was less stingy. I had 4 exalts by this point, but then again it was the end of the league so maybe they drop rates are tweaked throughout the league.

Soooo quite a lot of stuff happened tonight.
I've pushed out to T3 in the atlas and was promptly acosted by an NPC cartographer who started telling me about the elder and all-sorts of other shit.
Basically go here and kill all these fucks. So I did and I've caught the eye of The Maven who wants me to kill more. She's like the freaks in the masks watching squid game.
I've been and smited baran and got some tasty influenced gloves that are electrified, I'm currently scourging them for shits n giggles.
Not to mention I've also visited the temple of atzoatle(?) and also experienced breach (giant ever growing portal where the universe descends on you) and blight (crazy ass tower defence with loooooots of killing) encounters.
Sold a cloak for 5c and a shield for 3 ... Love it. love it. Love it.

I appear to be caught in a loop of playing builds till about l30 and starting again, 4th one so far , now on a cold witch. I might get to maps one day.

You can always level a few more potential main skills in your secondary weapon set (yes, they level, even when those secondary weapons are not active), to have some options when your planned main skill doesn't pan out.

i had a couple of wands each with sockets and loaded them with gems i had no real intention of using but to sell when they're levelled up.
i've already made a few c from some of the gems

On a cold witch, Freezing Pulse used to be pretty solid, as it can be linked to a plethora of support gems. There's also a good unique jewel (First Snow) that adds more projectiles, and thus allows you to swap out GMP/LMP with a damage boosting support gem instead. I think one mandatory and a bit less obvious support gem was Faster Projectiles, because it increases range and implicitely also damage, because Freezing Pulse's damage decays over range.
Other obvious support gems would be Cold Penetration, Controlled Destruction, Spell Echo, Added Cold Damage or Faster Casting.
Ideal build nowadays would probably be an Inquisitor crit caster, but Elementalist should work well, too, with the bonus of being able to run reflect maps.

I played about 70% of seasons from about 2014 (started in 2013) until late 2020 when I largely lost interest. I think there were maybe two seasons, ever, where I had even two Exalts by the time I was starting maps (or even a bit into them). I mean, I might have had more if I liquified everything, sure, but it would have been a hell of an effort. My favourite season I did have like 1.5 Exalts (one an actual Exalt) when I hit maps which let me buy everything I needed for a fairly ridiculous Charged Dash build when they were briefly viable before they got totally and unnecessarily nerfed (yet again). And yeah I just can't get tempted into going back. Nothing about the last few seasons has sounded particularly compelling. A lot of the stuff they've retained from the last year or three has actually been pretty boring (despite being quite high-effort, or perhaps because of it), and I think I'm essentially waiting on POE2. |

I've defeated the bosses in each of their citadels and I'm now trying to get my head around this watchstones thing. Also, I corrupted a map earlier just cos and it's was fucking impossible |

Also, I corrupted a map earlier just cos and it's was fucking impossible What mods did it have? done another and figured it out. the scourge-o-meter "fills with kills" ... when it hits the 50% mark then you start losing ES then HP quite rapidly. Go into the scourge dimension and kill and it brings the meter back down and you lose the curse/effect. Repeat! Quite profitable mind ... got 2 tainted fusing orbs, that's 10c right there Another map is already in the cooker. |

I baked a couple more maps, took one of them to Tier2 and they are definitely a lot more rewarding. I'm going to bake one to higher tiers and try and push it.
There is also a scourge boss on the shifted map. Stumbled across her last night, I don't know if it's RNG or you just have to find her.
It seems the scourge bar stops decreasing when you hit her and she dropped loads of krangled shit on death.

Had a sneaky game at lunch and found an Astramentis amulet. Quick price check and it's worth 30-35c 0_o
I'm a filthy casual so I threw it up for 29c undercutting the cheapest by 1c and it was gone within minutes. Result.

I've been running around with spectres and my gem is nearly lvl20 now. I've been using any old beasty until now as wasn't aware there was a difference, just went for big or fast things.
Well there is. Depending on what you kill and resummon (I can have 3 at the moment) they actually have skillset specifically the de/buffs etc of that specific enemy.
Weeellllll, I now have 3 bastard hard she-demons from the nightmare realm and they tear everything a new asshole. Screaming, leaping and they breathe fire that is the width of the screen. They're ace.
Sold another tasty item, corrupted talisman that had an annointed passive it. Seems it was worth a few bob. 45c in my pocket. Bosh!
At times this gets very "inception". I did a map tha started a delerium event (so much fun) and met zana and dipped into a map run within the map and the did an abyss event and a lab trial and a blight encounter then smashed the boss, dropped back the first map I was in completed that and the boss in front of maven and triggered a conquerer to rock up .... all while dipping in and out of nightmare. Took about 20 minutes and so many returns to my stash with all the shit.

chased another scourge boss down earlier, literally jumping in and out of nightmare trying to locate her. i eventually ran out of mobs to kill and ultimately out of scourge juice with only one more section of the map to check. luckily, i'd saved 2 incursion events so i hopped into one of them and ramped up the blood meter which thankfully allowed me to take this filled meter back out to the map. i sprinted over and .. there she was! i nearly would've killed her but i fucked up the rotation on my armor flask and she literally drove right through me. does she move about, have i lost her ? a hasty revival in town, popped my auras and dove back in. firstly, i scooted over to where she was and opened a portal as a map marker and then jumped into that last incursion to fill my meter. right here goes, last chance .... killed her with probably a second or two remaining on the meter so took a quick screenshot while the loot poured forth  |

oh god yes, vendor trash all day long.
the instilling orbs are 1c i think. they allow you to augment the utility flasks with trigger conditions.
i have a use when refilled on my quicksilver flask. does exactly as it sounds, and triggers as soon as it fills up, i can also manually use the flask as normal.
I also have one each on the basalt and granite. one triggers on use of a life flask and the other triggers when an adjacent flask is used. if i pop the life flask it will trigger the armor flasks automatically. they're very cool and it means i rarely have to play potion piano
