Yeah, life only works with both investment in %life nodes and flat +life rolls on your gear. Endgame bosses dish out multi thousand damage hits quite frequently, and that is with other defenses such as resistances and armor up as high as you can manage. So if your total hitpoints pool (doesn't have to be life, but life is most straightforward) can't take it, you will just constantly die. Rule of thumb back when I played was about 300 HP per act, obviously more for HC.

Yeah I've had my fair share of one shot kills from perendi or perdition gr guardians in D3.
Got a key for the tower so I guess I'm heading to the a3 boss now.

I have a hard time imagining how some of the skills are working with controller input. Area target spells like firestorm or curses? Probably a massive disadvantage.

Defo getting better at this and it's making more sense as I go on (+5 hand Dex:-P). Did my first trade and bought a unique armour piece just to get me head around the etiquette.
Seems a bit of a shit setup having to whisper some other person to see if you can have their castoffs but I could just as easily benefit from this with my shit gear. Why the fuck this isn't automated like steam trading though is nuts but I'm a noob on the outside only just looking in so maybe I'm the odd one

Yeah, trading is pretty shitty. At least nowadays I think you can find stuff and list your own stuff over the official website. Back when I started, you had to spam trade chat and hope someone read your offer/request.

Oh man, it's like a mega onion. shit just keeps opening and revealing more layers to get lost in. Loads of skill gems plus supports which mixes it all up. Find something you like and then start choosing your passives around it to buff the hell out of it. I've just seen cluster gems Then ascend and there are more passive skills in a special ascendancy panel that pimp you further .. looks to be 4 or 5 levels of ascendancy so running the lab a few times over the course of the acts. Then after act 5 you start again in the act 1 area but it's act 6 with different quests and now you you can put points in the pantheon to unlock more shit Then when you finally complete all 10 acts you can move onto the atlas which is another massive board with seemingly endless amounts of stuff to unlock which is loads of modifiers for maps with Uber bosses and loot. Depending on what you specced your build as will determine just how tough you'll find the 'mapping' And while you're doing all that you can even devote hours and hours to endless crafting and stuff which is all RNG and the rolls on gear starts to get into crazy affix land with influencing and tiers. And currency, everything is currency. Fuck me there is so much stuff in here |

I've ruined my last build with my Templar by removing some skills and moving stuff around to play and somehow lost all my DPS. I'm not knowledgeable enough to fix/unfuck things just yet but the 30+ hours is shoved into I've already caught up with a new character in just over 2.
You don't need to kill everything and explore every corner like I did on my first go.

Yeah, you get increased item quality and quantity for more players in the same instance. Programmatic character control is forbidden, though, and will get you permabanned if they find out.

You'll have to level them, too, though, because you can't access end game content without having done some high level quests. And there is no powerleveling like in D2.

The maps towards the center are quite tough, and I've never been able to find many (yes maps are items that drop like other loot). I don't think many players really reach the center, it takes a lot of dedication.

I've spent money and bought a starter pack that got me a free stash tab and 200 gold pieces to spend. I bought the currency tab to organise all my currency/mats. It's very swish and cos 75 gold. I also bought a premium stash tab that will allow me to list my shit on the trade sites. Find owt good, throw it on there . Cost me 40 gold. Gotta get them exhalts! |

Do you know the chromatic and full rare set vendor recipes? They are a way to get some currency early on. Full rare set requires a few stash tabs, though, if you don't want to spend too much time micro managing it.

Chromatic orb is any gear with a 3l of each colour socket isn't it or or do you have something new for me?
I have a loot filter applied that dings to highlight the good stuff. As I'm levelling the shittier white stuff is getting a smaller font to the point it disappears. 3l are still highlighted though.
What's full set rare?
I do know a quick cheeky one to get a decent resist ring early-ish. Iron ring plus a gem of red,green or blue for a different res

If you sell a set of full equipment (covering every equipment slot) of rare quality to a vendor, you get either chance orbs or chaos orbs back. I think chaos orbs start being returned when you trade gear with iLvl of 60 or more, which starts dropping in Act 9. You get more orbs if you sell unidentified sets and even more if all pieces have 20% quality (which is pretty rare to achieve).
Now, elite players claim it's a waste of time, but for me, it was one of the steadiest sources of income (next to the chroma recipe), and if you have the stash space to spare, it doesn't take much time. You just pick up rare stuff and throw it into designated tabs (a helmet/gloves tab, a jewelry tab, and so on), and once you have a tab full, you'll probably have enough of the other items to at least sell a few sets. If not, you just don't pick those up you have a full tab of, so it requires a small mental load. You can optimize a bit by only picking up the 3x1 size weapons, so you have to travel back to town a bit less often and save some space in stash.
I usually played SSF, so it was of course very worthwhile for me, but I think at least the chaos recipe should also be worth it for regular players, at least up until you reach the later tier maps.
