I have ascended again and gone for the option that gets me abother golem. I now have 4 trundling around with me and I'm kinda tanky.
I've googled and I can get a 5th one but it requires a jewel so I might get that just for giggles to round out my league finish.
About to complete act 8 I think, I've just got 2 giant sun and moon eggs.
Spent what felt like a lifetime looking for Clarissa at the quay. DOH!

I know people say it’s a big mistake to not follow a guide but… I’m not following any guide. I don't consider it a mistake. Just keep in mind that you will most probably fuck up your char and get stuck somewhere in the later acts. But you learn most from your own mistakes, so when you eventually do get stuck, try to find out what the problem is, and try to make it better next time. Yeah if I have to start a new character I’m fine with that. Learning is part of the fun as far as I’m concerned. I’m more wanting to just find my own style then create optimal builds at this point. |

This thread got me hooked again. Started playing a bow person, just in the lower acts. Feels so satisfying to kill monsters, and I find it is much easier to quickly see what items are good compared to other games of a similar ilk.
They must have done some magic with the graphics as well, it looks much nicer now compare to a few years ago.

I was thinking the same, I mean act 1 still looks grim but that's the aesthetic they've gone for. Some of the later maps look pretty damn good especially the crypts or reliquaries. I really liked the entrance of the Solaris/Lunaris bosses ... like they were frozen in stone midfight and all that kinetic energy was still present when they were freed |

Complete the game and moved onto maps. The -60% Res sure does bite. I'm a little bit too glass at the moment even with my ninja evasion skills

I especially remember a water/shore update that made waves look much better. Complete the game and moved onto maps. How many times has Kitava killed you? Anyway, you can now grind The Feeding Trough before you go into maps. |

I think I died 5 times but once was definitely me dashing straight back in without getting my auras back up. Face planted into a chaos wall of death.
I think that's this toon done now. I'll leave it for posterity but I'll give it a break for a few days and come back for league start.
My lack of knowledge got me in the end as I didn't pre stack more Res ahead of the 60 debuff. This coupled with some wonky passive choices and some shit rolls on my ending gear meant I hit a bit of a wall. It didn't help when I crafted some nice new boots and accidentally added Phys dmg on instead of movement. 4c down the pan /facepalm
I'll know for next time :-)

It's normal to hit a wall from time to time. As experienced player you just go back to the latest grindable area and either grind for exp or currency and then fix the problems and move on.

Danno trying again on league start? Looking forward to sticking alsorts of shit in the krangler and seeing what whacky corrupted affixes I can get. I can see even shit stuff for me being good for others and I can sell quite a bit of stuff early on I might go for an actual build this time and see how big a difference it makes compared to mine powerwise. I can easily deviate on the tree a bit for learning/experimentation

So I loaded it up and have a couple of characters around the level 80 mark, half a dozen in the mid 40's and a few in the low 20's. It's been a good couple of years since I last played I reckon, so I might just delete everyone and start again next week.

You don't have to delete anything, league is separate from your other chars anyway, since they are in standard.

Well, they will be unspecced anyway. After major passives tree changes, all chars get a free full respec. So there is still no need to delete them, you can use them as test chars for builds.

Playing a witch , using brands, got to somewhere in act 2 last night. Its crazy how fast the speedrunners do this, was seeing messages about people hitting the same zone I was in, but on their second play through.

I'm a witch too, I've gone necro tho.
Holy shit the damage is nuts. Running around with a 2h staff just to get 4 sockets for my skellies to spawn phantasms.
I also have zombies, a spectre (mimicking a large rock beast), skitterbots, a golem and animate guardian
The skelly gem is the Vaal one so once I've bagged enough souls I can drop a boss overloading fuckton of skellies.
I'm on A4 and jlhave just done Kaom ... He lasted 2 seconds.

This scourge mechanic produces some crazy shit. I krangled a nice wand that added something like 2 to 20 lightning damage but the second affix was do no lightning damage.
