With the "bigger" Scottish teams looking pretty shit and the rest already being shit, will we get a more interesting season?

Haha I was waiting for you to create this. It'll likely just be you and me talking shite in here Where's Aaron when you need him? Also: Kyogo! First time I've felt positive about a Celtic signing in what feels like a very long time.

First time I've felt positive about a Celtic signing in what feels like a very long time. I haven't watched Kyogo yet, been so disillusioned with everything but like what I'm hearing, getting some Japanese players like that might be a real pro from Ange. Sounds like Joe Hart is same as always, equally capable of an amazing save or a blunder... I might watch the Hearts game on Sunday.... Ping Aaaron, I miss his deluded posts

Yeah Kyogo has looked really exciting. Still some rough edges, but he's already made some tremendous finishes and his movement off-the-ball is great: in the last two games Christie and Turnball have been able to find him almost every time he runs behind the defence. Also just helps that he's chasing everything and willing to track back and defend, which is a million miles from Eddy, whom I still love but think it may be best to move him on now.
Think Hart will always be capable of a blunder, but he did make two strong saves last night to save the clean sheet, which I'm convinced both Bain and Barkas would have let in. And he does at least continually talk/shout at his defense, so overall (the occasional error aside) hopefully a step up to what we have.
As for Rangers, not getting the CL place is really rough for them. Seems to now be well expected that they'll need to shift a few players to keep the lights on. Morelos and Kent the obvious ones that could bring in decent cash, but they would be left substantially weakened if they lost either of them. Morelos being a dick aside, he's clearly a huge player for them and I think would prove to be a massive loss if he goes.

The pace Celtic were playing was pretty insane, wonder if they will run out of juice halfway through the season. Great to watch, still not convinced by the fullbacks, though the have improved.
Night and day from the turgid stuff from last season.
Not a rabid Celtic fan, so happy to see Hearts/Hibs and the like doing well, as long as we win it, even sorry to see Rangers fuck it up, need the coefficient point you wankers

Yeah, Barkas looks like a random guy from the pub they gave gloves to, without doubt an improvement. Yep, need to punt Eddy, he clearly doesn't want to be there.

It's actually fun to watch Ange's Celtic, we'll concede loads of stupid goals but the madness doesn't stop for 90 mins

We'll obviously see how things work out, but the most apparent things are the heightened energy levels and the high press. It's so refreshing to see after the last few years where our inability to start the game at anywhere near an appropriate tempo cost us so dearly.
And, as much as I love Eddy, I don't think his languid, pound-shop Berbatov-style is suited to such an approach.

Good win today, happy with it. Another goal for Kyogo and interesting seeing him playing out on the flank to accommodate Eddy, who was much more on the boil today.
Defensively, however, a bit frail: really poor play from Starfelt giving the penalty away, which I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on as he's new to the league/set up, but really need those sort of mistakes not to be happening this season. 92nd minute consolation should also have been nipped in the bud. A win's a win though, as they say.

In Italy the scottish first division is available online free together to other interesting european championship like portuguese division, polish division, greek division, danish division. I'll use this advantaging promotion to see some match hopeing it couldn't be an only double competition (Celtic and Ranger)

Will the league be more competitive this year? Celtic and Rangers will be closer to each other possibly but It'll be a two-horse race again. Sadly.

Two-horse race, the right word, not double competition. Sorry

I have always looked with curiosity at the small nations championships with 10-12 teams in the first division and how the Federation regulates development after the second round. To lengthen the broth, almost all this leagues have a split, upper championship from 1° to 6°, down championship from 7° to 12°. In Belgium and Denmark that happen after the second round. In Sctoltand after a new and inusual third round.

I live in Scotland and STILL don't know how the split works. Some pencil pushers bright idea that nobody gives a shit about Each team face others 3 times. Then, you cut the classification in two group, from 1° to 6° and from 7° to 12°. And you go on for another round (each team face 1 time the other 5 teams in own group) and sum new point with the old. Team in one group can't go up or down in the higher o lower group. It's a good compromise to have more matches and avoid play off with knockout stage, an aberration for a championship tournament in my opinion

For Scotland's sake, teams like Aberdeen, Hibernian, Hearts should come back to win

It was always the way. The way European football is setup it keeps the rich at the top and the smaller leagues on the outside looking in.

Sounds like Rangers have rejected a further bid for young Hagi, £3-4m from Galatasaray. That's allegedly off the back of two previous bids from Seville and Lazio, which were closer to £6m.
Hmmmm, BBC saying they're holding out for 9m? That sounds optimistic to me. He does seem like a talented lad, but has he even been starting for them? Strange.

Looks like Rangers have been hit with a bit of a Covid outbreak. Several players, possibly even including Gerrard himself, out of their Europa League qualifier tomorrow and potentially also the game against Celtic on Sunday. No confirmed list of those affected at the moment, though.

ooooooooooof the nerves are kicking in already Will be interested to see the line-ups. We have 0 (zero!) allocated away tickets today, so it's likely going to be 50k Rangers fans going mental in the stands. The objective part of me says there is room for optimism: we've been playing some lovely, high-paced attacking stuff; but the realist says our defensive frailties will end up costing us. I wonder what price you'd get on Starfelt either conceding a penalty or getting sent off lol Can also see them giving Kyogo some serious physical attention. Likely to be Eddy's last hoorah as well. Hmmm ...

What's happening with their Covid outbreak? Are their players (and manager) still isolating?

No idea, they've kept it under wraps, understandably. Team sheets should be submitted within the next half hour, though, so we'll know soon.

Oooft. Juranovic straight in for his debut. No Taylor; Rogic dropping to the bench to accomodated both Eddy and Kyogo up front.
Kent returns for them but both MacGregor (and their 2nd choice keeper) and Tavener still out, as is the young lad Patterson.
Christ, it's tough to call. Celtic bench a little weak, perhaps?

Just as I type that, BBC reporting that Gerrard is self-isolating and wont be there.
