My niece is four years old and, without any prompting, has taken to watching Mario Kart let’s plays on YouTube. I still think she might be a bit young for Kart but am thinking odyssey co-op might be a good entry level game for her. Remember on MK8 Deluxe you can turn on auto-accelerate and steering assist, that's what my kids used when they were around 4/5, they loved it. But yeah, Odyssey co-op and / or assist mode (with the arrow and health regen) is also awesome at that age.

Wor lad just finished DS3. So impressed with him. All 3 Dark Souls done in 4 months. DS3 he did most bosses with nee summons. 2021 has been largely shit but this has made my year.
Just bought him Sekiro and going to start tomorrow. Very excited!!

I only played Demon’s Souls and spent most the time hiding behind scenery. Even Plagued the final boss to death from a distance.
Maybe I was more concerned about spent costs and not wanting to redo bit of the game again. Rogue like kids today are going to have serious patience and reflexes. It’ll be like being a mouse amongst cats when we’re older.

rawshark my daughter gave up on Hot Wheels Unleashed after 10 minutes because she said the drift "didn't work right". Reflexes, yes, but patience??

I don't think I will do much gaming with ours until much older. We barely let the older of the two (he is 3.5) watch anything on a screen, and if we do we try to do it together and make it more of a social experience.
Seems to be enough evidence out there to support limiting screen time.

There's a lot to be said for limiting screen time. The trouble is, at least so far as it is with us, is all the boys mates meet online for hours at a time. When he doesn't meet up with them he misses out, and it's all his mates from school.

Picked up Animal Crossing from the swappsies thread here for my little girl, we're 3 hours in, having a blast She can't read well enough yet so I've had to sit with her through these first few hours to read the dialogue, but she's getting the hang of it now and has started to crack on with the standard stuff on her own. She's desperate to explore other people's islands and see what people are doing - does anyone have an island code they're happy to share for her to explore? Are there any public islands out there that would be suitable for her to look at? Not sure how all this works just yet.

Not a co-op game but daughter 10 is loving Bus Simulator 21, we played at of overcooked but now later levels getting too difficult for her. But the co-op at the moment is cat quest 2 which is very fun.

I played a lot of Lego avengers with the boy when he was a bit younger. Obvious stuff like Mario kart, odyssey etc. Shout out to Luigi’s Mansion 3 as well.
Now he’s a bit older (9) he’s more into Roblox, Among Us etc. We do enjoy a bit of rocket league and fall guys too.

They are inevitably exposed to it through school and phones as they get older. Even as a former games developer I don’t think it’s a good idea to introduce it too early.

Setup Mario Kart Circuit at the weekend. Super impressed with it and can see lots of potential creating your own courses etc..
