I'm more concerned about whether I'll have finished BG3 and Starfield by January. Ironically I might be delayed by a work trip to Japan. Worth it to wander the streets of Kamurocho(kabukicho) for real

I can only assume it's a case of that's how the production's shaken out with the COVID issues and they couldn't come up with anything 'better'.
Yeah, maybe.
I'd still have expected them to increase the gap once the dust had settled, but perhaps they have Judgment 3 (or something similar) in the pipeline for late 2024, and need to clear their backlog one way or the other.

0-6: Kiryu Beat-em-ups 7 (Y:Lad): Ichiban + JRPG Judgement: Private eye Beat-em-up Ishin: Feudal Beat-em-up Basically there has only been one that was a JRPG so far rather than a combo brawler Thanks. When it comes to the new ones though they're both called LAD:Subtitle but one is another JRPG and one is a Kiryu beat em up right? It's just weird to me that they're not more differentiated. I'm guessing this is not a hot take

I can't believe the rate that they knock these out! I've still not played any of the Judgement ones

That's right - Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is the action brawler, while Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the turn-based JRPG.
Adding to the confusion (mine, anyway!) is that Kiryu appears in both games, despite having been 'retired' as a protagonist after Yakuza 6.

It may be that Man Without A Name's campaign is just pretty short.

It may be that Man Without A Name's campaign is just pretty short.
That might also explain why it's digital-only outside of Japan - they seem to be treating it as a small-scale spin-off, even without the looming shadow of Infinite Wealth.

They pretty much said as much, comparable to the story in the Kaito Files in terms of length.

I'm fine with a short Yakuza game tbh.
Though that being said I'm also currently eyeing the £28 price tag for Ishin on PS5...

I need to import the Gaiden game for a physical, assuming both Japanese and Asian have English on this time around. Not sure which option to plump for. I will buy Infinite Wealth locally of course. And yeah, short gao between them.

The Gaiden game special edition looks potentially interesting, go with my imported Yakuza 0 cigar tin Edit - and I now realise the Ultimate Edition mentioned for Infinite Wealth is a digital nonsense pack not a collectors edition, oops.

Still Janky as fuck transitions when going through dialog then. Characters suddenly completely changing position / posture without any animation frames.

If anyone is playing Like a dragon ishin, there is 2 free dlc. One is a really good sword - poet katana, way better than any loot drop and some trooper high ranking ones. I like the game but I don't think its amazing

I really enjoyed Ishin albeit I can say its absolutely the most grindy of them all. You take a look at the achievements and one of them is to get every sword, gun, armor in the game and yet one of the last ones alone is about 200 ryo and I think I had at most about 30 over my course of the game. Repeatedly talking to all npc's to build up a friendship gauge was a pain etc. Still, I did enjoy it.

I liked the main game but you right, its worst grind of all the games, its not fun for me. It feels like a check list of things to do and lot of the side quests were not as good as other games. Shillup hyped the cult side story and it was not really good
Just glad its on gamepass as if I did buy it, would of been putting the game on ebay right now

They released a trailer for inifite wealth to show animal crossing island town building and tbh sure its going to be the games grind thing to get the good gear etc/ Sometimes I want these games to have less mini games but do them better

Like a Dragon Gaiden took only six months to make, originally planned as DLC
link on various sites. sounds like its going to be barebones or just recycled content from past games

Yeah just saw that. Think I'll wait for impressions on length before buying.

They've been clear about this since the start - the main story content if you mainline it is about as much as the Kaito DLC for Lost Judgment, but unlike the Kaito Files they've added a bunch of extra side stuff to make it into something they could justify a standalone release.

tbh I had not been following the game closely but 6 months work seems a bit thrown together when they are asking for £45 for the standard game
Will be playing it on gamepass, it seems the best way to play it at launch
