I can't remember it terribly well but I what I do recall is that S3 was a bit of a mess. And some of S2 was a bit meh if memory serves correctly. It's rarely less than watchable, but the first series was by far the best.

Yeah, I was bored by S2 but did at least finish it. Couldn't get past the first episode of S3

Yeah, they're well past the point of ending on a high. It's still watchable, but far from essential viewing. They definitely need to put an end to it asap.

I'm watching (aside from Succession)...
Stath S3 (one per week so it's not gone too quickly) - absolutely hilarious. It's getting more and more surreal/bizarre and the first two episodes both have sing-songs. Terrific.
Feel Good - veers between lightly amusing and very funny. Like it a lot.
Normal People - err... it's very sexy. Like middle-class erotica. Guess they needed something to pad the 12 episodes with given the book is very thin.
Taskmaster S12 - The line up is great. It's a good series, but I don't think it'll be a classic series.

I hope Galactica starts picking up again soon because season 3 has started like the eighth season of a show you’re half carrying on with out of obligation
Edit: I hated that arc but Tigh and Adama’s reunion. Oh man.

Des - that three parter with David Tennant about Dennis Nilsen. It's good stuff, highly recommended for fans of Mindhunter.

It's rarely less than watchable, but the first series was by far the best. This. It didn't jump the shark as badly as Homeland, but it did suffer from needing to drag out the central 'relationship' far longer than was needed. That said, I'll still watch season 4, and if they have an actual ending in sight, I could see it picking up again. Yup. All good. Feel Good season 2 is also doing that thing where they need to drag out the relationship for another season. It seems to be a problem almost all dramas based around central relationships have. I assume there won't be a Season 2 of Normal People, so it managed to avoid that pretty well. I hope Galactica starts picking up again soon because season 3 has started like the eighth season of a show you’re half carrying on with out of obligation Is Season 3 the one where they all start on the planet and Starbuck is a school teacher or something? That's where I noped out.

Yeah, its such a handbrake turn on the series, setting, characters, relationships, the time jump forward from the end of S2 felt like several seasons worth of content had been skipped for a soft reboot.
And speaking of soft, tubby Apollo was bordering on comical the way they set him up.

Ted Lasso
One episode and noped out of it. Not sure which was the most egregious thing - the non humour, completely unlikeable lead, blatant sponsorship of Dubai or yet another US show giving us jolly old England.
Haven't hated something in quite a long time and I can watch Everybody Loves Raymond.

Haven't hated something in quite a long time You hate everything though. Haha not at all. I get why you say that but for context, here is a list of comedies I like Simpsons, Look Around You, Green Wing, Peep Show, Inbetweeners, Father Ted, Alan Partridge, Spaced. The through line is they're mostly all British. It's clear Ted was written by an American with them in mind. Probs the big issue.

I think some people just like a bit of cynicism in their comedy. Which I guess doesn't feel very American? (though there's loads of American comedies with that tone to them, so I dunno)

It's on my list to try. My concern is that it falls into The US Office trap of not quite getting the need for subtlety or cringe in comedy. I very rarely find US comedy awkward in the UK sense. Tried Parks and Rec - bounced off that as well. Of the US comedy shows I can watch, Simpsons and Curb are winners. Tried Seinfeld. Just kept waiting for George to kill Jerry. Or Elaine to kill Jerry. Or anyone to kill Jerry.

Weird... I would've thought anybody that liked Curb would pretty much automatically like Seinfeld.

It's more like the Simpsons in some ways, as it has a bunch of references to almost everything. I also bounced off Parks & Rec... even though Aubrey Plaza is in it and she's great in everything. I also tried Seinfeld and kept waiting for it to be funny. It's not ever funny. Season 1 of Schitt's Creek seemed to have an acceptable level of cringe... thought the first season wasn't anything special. I hear it gets better but haven't had a chance to go back.

The Larry Sanders Show was great and doesn't seem to get a lot of recognition Have seen bits and what I saw was excellent. Arrested Development came really close to me loving it but it just never quite settled into a groove. Though there were some spectacular moments. Weirdly, I tend to think US comedy movies are much better than TV. Ghostbusters, Spinal Tap, even up to Superbad and Step Brothers. They seem to do better at set pieces, which suit movies more than TV, where character is more important.

Weird... I would've thought anybody that liked Curb would pretty much automatically like Seinfeld. Yeah that is weird. George is Larry, Larry is George. Both are amazing. George's whole engagement storyline and then his reaction to his fiancées sudden demise remains one of the funniest things I've ever seen. So dark and so far removed from what other 90s sitcoms were doing.

For me, George is probably the best sitcom character ever. I love the characters in (for example) It's Always Sunny, which is probably the thing closest to the feel of Seinfeld aside from Curb. But I never want those psychopaths to actually succeed, whereas George is a lot more relatable in his awfulness.

I'm just finished Episode 6 of The Outsider, it's pretty excellent so far with really solid acting from Mendelsohn and pretty much all the cast.
