After admitting to musical crimes earlier, I’m probably going to risk compounding people’s view of my as a Mumsnet denizen by admitting I’m addicted to the current season of Waterloo Road.
I think they handled the scenes with the deaf lad really well, and the overriding arc is edge of the seat stuff.
Jason Manford is pretty good as the dislikable new head, but Fiona from Corrie is missed as she was an early crush of mine.
Would recommend to a friend. Possibly on Xbox now that’s coming back.
Our youngster has filmed as an extra for this too but I don’t think she’s going to be visible as we near the end.

I started Beef on Netflix. I don't know how much you can make out of some road rage, when it's A24 and they rarely disappoint.

Thought Beef was great - a great mix of themes and really funny at times.
Ali Wong was fantastic.

I thought it was shittttttttt. First episode was good, then it got terrible very quickly. For some reason, I actually watched it through to the end. Like an Aldi Killing Eve.

I thought it was ok but about twice as long as it needed to be. The music choices were almost always hilarious.

You're both mad. The second to last episode was some truly special TV. Ending was a little fumbled mind.

Slow Horses - 4x02
Hugo Weaving looks really old now.
I would really like to see a cold war era prequel series with a young Jackson Lamb being recruited into espionage by Cartwright Senior.
Gaius Baltar is going to end up deposed fairly quickly, and I like the way Taverner is not only giving him enough rope, but then also telling him that she's doing it.
Jonathan Pryce is excellent, although Cartwright Senior's mental decline since season 3 has advanced so rapidly that it's sadly reminding me of how my own grandfather was sort of mostly there with some memory lapses for a long time, then one day almost as if a switch had been flipped, he was just sort of gone within his own memories and lucid for only very brief periods.

I don't believe anyone who watches an entire series through to the end isn't enjoying it somewhat. Either that or you're a masochist.

I'm watching Loudermilk S1 still and I don't love that...
I have a bit of a completionist habit combined with a belief that some series can turn it around, so I tend not to abandon shows mid-season unless it's obviously not for me.
Silo is a great example of a show that for me went 8/10... 5/10... 4/10... 6/10... 10/10 final episode.
Whereas Servant and For All Mankind got abandoned after a few episodes because there was no hope.

If its the prominence of a certain character/arc thats holding you back on Loudermilk then don’t worry things change

Taskmaster S18 then... Strong line-up. Zaltzman very funny. Think I'm in love with Emma Sidi. Maybe it was the wink.

I watched one of the newer episodes of Futurama last night (parasites regained) - surprised just how bad it was.
Are there actually any decent episodes in the Disney+ wave, or am I better off leaving it be?

Are there actually any decent episodes in the Disney+ wave, or am I better off leaving it be? It's been a tough watch - sadly I think the magic is finally gone. "All The Way Down" is worth a watch though. Thought that was a good episode which, funnily enough, didn't touch on anything topical and stuck to an interesting sci-fi concept.

The current season is *a lot* better than the last one but its at best “some more Futurama” rather than anything that will challenge either of the previous eras of the show.
Every single episode of the first Hulu/Disney+ season is a contender for all time worst episode. Anything topical they do in either season is totally hack and astonishingly dated (Crypto, NFTs, Fyre Fest etc).

Good to know the new season is an improvement! I'll take 'average' Futurama any day of the week.

Is this tv version of Popmaster always on at this time of night? Its looks like its got the cheapest, most dated daytime quiz set. Like it should be on either straight after Win, Lose or Draw or about lunchtime alongside Working Lunch or Doctors.

I had to stop watching it. It was like seeing Noel Edmond’s cosplaying as a cartoon lion.

Speaking of - started watching One Piece on iPlayer.
I’ve seen and enjoyed the Netflix series, and already can see how well made it was. Seems to have dropped the unnecessary stuff, added some good stuff, kept the important things.
Oh, Mark Hamill just turned up with Joker voice. Good stuff.
Edit: nope, not Hamill. Sounds like him though.

I like it though, basic as but Ken still rocks imo

Less than ten minutes into the final Grand Tour, and there's already been a very dark joke about the Titan submarine implosion, and based on the paint colour, James May appears to be driving a priapism on wheels.

I'm now up to the start of series 3 of slow horses and I have to say it's probably one of the best shows I've seen in years. Fantastic stuff.

Watched S2 E4 of House of the Dragon last night. That was one of the best episodes ever. Not just for HotD, but even considering GoT as well. It was bloody brilliant. Absolutely bloody brilliant.
Meanwhile I've watched 1 episode of S2 of Rings of Power with the boy and... it was alright. Not as bad as I feared but still struggling to muster up the will to watch another. By comparison HotD is continually knocking it out the park.

I'm getting the same feeling about pryce's decline with my Dad too. My dad also slightly looked and sounded like him which makes it a bit more unsettling Unbelievably brilliant series though. I've binged all 3 seasonsin about a week and about to jump into season 4.

Game of thrones! I’ve never re watched this and did the first 3 episodes last night. Such a great show it’s an interesting watch when you know what is happening in a few series time.

Slow Horses. Am up to date now and waiting for the latest episode of series 4 to drop tomorrow.
It's been outstanding from start to finish. I will honestly mourn this when it ends.
