For some reason it's taken me bloody ages to get around to watching the second episode of Shogun. Excellent stuff! Yeah the show is outstanding. Odds on to finish in my top 3 of the year, at worst, the way it's going.

Just finished the first episode of Apples Never Fall. (Peacock, all seven episodes available now. Yarr.)
Mystery drama based on a novel by Liane Moriarty.
Annette Benning and Sam Neill playing newly retired tennis coaches, with four kids, the genetic lottery of whom was clearly won by Alison Brie. The Dad is something of an arsehole, all the tension in the family seems to stem from him having one of those "Show me success or you're nothing in my eyes" personalities.
The mother suddenly goes missing while out on a bike, and there's an ominous shot of the bike on the street with blood on it.
There are flashback scenes of how one night, a young woman claiming to be the victim of domestic abuse shows up at their door injured and asking for help, but there's something slightly off about her it seems, and in the present it's clear that the kids believe she is somehow involved in their mothers' disappearance. The dad is also evasive and apparently not being honest.
It's got a really nice soundtrack so far, and there's a nice sort of slightly orange tinged, sun drenched look to it which makes sense for Florida.

Stumbled onto the first episode of Band of Brothers while flicking the channels. They literally couldn’t have improved a single aspect of this, could they? Its perfect from the very start.

Watching Bastogne(?) just makes me feel cold, literally. It’s an amazing series and so well acted. Currahee!

And all those foxhole sequences during the Battle of the Bulge are filmed on a soundstage. They’re looking that cold indoors!

I watched an episode of The Connors because I was channel surfing and it was the only thing that caught my attention.
It's kinda weird that it's basically Roseanne, but without Roseanne.
Also, John Goodman is really slim, everyone looks really old, and little DJ is now like 35!
Now, I haven't watched Roseanne in 20+ years, and I have no idea how it'd hold up these days, but I remember it being pretty funny while also a little dark and willing to address difficult topics. This seemed pretty similar.
It's a while since I've seen a proper old-style infront-of-a-studio-audience sitcom as they don't seem to be in fashion these days, but it managed to at least make me lol a couple of times, which already puts it ahead of most BBC3 'comedy'-dramas.
I might even bother watching a second episode.

Finished Apples Never Fall.
Absolute horse fuckery.
Well beyond "Couldn't stick the landing", it fucking cratered from orbit. Complete waste of time. Unbelievably nonsensical decision making by key characters, pissed away any tension and fallout from events and ended with a shrug and an "Oh well."

Curb your enthusiasm S12E7 Excellent stuff as usual. Freddy really gets a chance to shine in this one. Can't believe it's nearly over, but I suppose it's best to just leave it as 12 consistently great seasons.

Someone at work recommended Barbarians to me (Netflix) so I watched the first two episodes yesterday, feels like it could be on a par with Vikings so I'm definitely going to keep going.

Really enjoying Mr and Mrs Smith on Prime. Up to episode 5 and Ron Perlman is having a great time!
I notice that I have not received any adverts, other than in episode 1.

Makes me feel better about it not having a broadcaster in the UK yet. Sky were in negotiations, but they’ve fallen through now.

Watched the first ep of Twisted Metal. Anthony Mackie stars as Aldi Will Smith. Neve Campbell is Evil Campbell. Stephanie Beatriz has a very easy payday as a mute person. And Samoa Joe is the only memorable thing from the games... and is voiced by Bojack Horseman.
And I thought it was a lot of fun. I’ll watch it all.
Oh, Thomas Haden Church as well. I miss him being in more things.

I’ve watched some frustrating tv series before but…
3 Body Problem. Netflix.
God, it’s so FUCKING SLOOOOOOOW!!!
Just in the first episode, I wanted to cheer every time they went back to communist China just because that was the only place where progress was being made. “TAKE ME BACK TO COMMUNIST CHINA” I was shouting.
“It might get interesting” said Mrs Shark. I’m not sure if I can take that level of risk.

Uhhhh... is Gladiators a soap opera or something? I thought it was an obstacle course thing like Ninja Warrior.

It is but as a competition, some might have watched it all the way through and been following certain contestants. Knowing who won the semi/final might but a dampner on things.

Sorry Syrette, was a late night grumpy response from me!
We watch it as a family together and get caught up in cheering for contestants, were out last night and missed it so watching later today...got to practice my acting now 😉

The Witcher S3
Quite liked the first two seasons but this really isn't doing it for me. Three and a half episodes in and finding it boring and directionless.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners
Fucking hell, it gets a bit mental halfway through! It's a really well realised version of night city. Definitely made me want to go straight into another playthrough of Cyberpunk after I've finished Dragon's Dogma.

Partly watching this Coma series.
It’s too much to be honest.
I don’t need this level of anxiety from my TV.
But it’s exceedingly well done if you can take LOTS of tension and peril.

Uhhhh... is Gladiators a soap opera or something? I thought it was an obstacle course thing like Ninja Warrior. There is a “will they, won’t they” element to it… In that I’m still waiting to see if Sabre will return my DMs.
